The Opportunity:
The Product Owner 2 (PO 2) will be responsible for driving product outcomes with a high degree of independence. The role requires strong judgment and decision‑making and operates effectively in complex, ambiguous environments. The PO2 partners with internal and external digital stakeholders and delivery teams, acting as a liaison between business and technology to translate needs into well‑prioritized product solutions.
COR.IQ is a Symcor’s growing financial crime and fraud prevention portfolio that serves large, Tier‑1 financial institutions, operating at scale within complex, high‑volume banking environments. The portfolio delivers advanced fraud solutions across key risk domains including cheque and image‑based fraud, Anti‑Money Laundering (AML), and Authorized Push Payment (APP) fraud, leveraging AI‑ and machine‑learning‑driven analytics to enable real‑time detection, decisioning, and risk mitigation.
This is a hybrid role with flexible onsite expectations, typically 1 to 2 days per week. New employees are expected to be onsite 2 to 3 times a week during their first three months to support onboarding and collaboration. This is a fixed‑term position.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with business and product outcomes.
- Make day‑to‑day product decisions independently, including scope trade‑offs, sequencing, and prioritization, with minimal escalation.
- Collaborate with business partners, technology teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders across the digital space to shape and refine product needs.
- Translate complex business problems into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements.
- Operate effectively amid ambiguity and evolving processes, applying sound judgment and risk awareness to drive progress.
- Influence stakeholders by clearly articulating value, trade‑offs, and delivery or technical risks.
- Support Agile delivery teams throughout the lifecycle by providing clarity, prioritization, and timely decision‑making.
- Contribute beyond execution by supporting roadmap discussions, continuous improvement, and product evolution.
- Monitor outcomes and performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Take accountability for product decisions and outcomes, learning and adapting as needed.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience operating as a Product Owner in an Agile, digital environment with increasing independence and ownership.
- Proven experience owning and managing a product backlog, including defining, prioritizing, and sequencing work to drive business and customer outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent product decisions on scope, trade‑offs, and prioritization with minimal oversight.
- Experience acting as a liaison between business and technology, collaborating with multiple internal and external digital stakeholders.
- Strong track record of operating in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders, evolving processes, and technical complexity.
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements for delivery teams.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, including senior partners, through clear articulation of value, priorities, and constraints.
- Experience supporting Agile delivery teams throughout the full development lifecycle with a coaching and collaboration mindset.
