The Opportunity:

As the Director, Product Growth Initiatives, you will own the commercialization of innovative services across Symcor’s Payments and Open Banking portfolio, from concept validation through scaled market adoption. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, market execution, and enterprise transformation, with a mandate to translate emerging opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.

You will define and execute go-to-market strategies, shape product vision and roadmaps, and lead cross-functional teams through complex delivery and regulatory landscapes. Partnering closely with Technology, Legal, Privacy, Risk, Sales, and external ecosystem partners, you will ensure offerings are market-ready, compliant, and positioned for long-term growth.


This is a hybrid role with flexible onsite expectations, typically for 2 days per week. New employees are expected to be onsite 2 to 3 times a week during their first three months to support onboarding and collaboration.

About The Role:

  • Define and execute commercialization and go-to-market strategies for new and emerging Payments and Open Banking products, driving adoption, revenue growth, and market differentiation.
  • Own the Open Banking product portfolio, including product vision, multi-year roadmap, partner strategy, delivery oversight, and client onboarding and enablement.
  • Lead the evolution of offerings from MVP to enterprise-grade solutions, balancing speed-to-market with scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, contributing to Symcor’s broader product and growth strategy through data-backed insights, business cases, and market intelligence.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing product and growth teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement aligned with Symcor’s values.
  • Manage financial planning for the portfolio, including budgets, forecasts, and ROI tracking, ensuring investments are aligned with strategic and commercial objectives.

What You Need to Succeed:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is essential.
  • A master’s degree such as an MBA or a specialized graduate program in product management, digital transformation, or financial technology would be considered an asset.
  • Additional training in project management (such as PMP or Agile certifications), regulatory compliance, and advanced data analytics would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in Product development, GTM strategy, or commercialization preferably in Fintech, SasS B2B or Payments.
  • Demonstrated experience launching, scaling, and monetizing products in highly regulated industries, with direct accountability for outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving technology, compliance, legal, and external partners.

Skill requirements

  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to build compelling business cases, assess market opportunities, and influence executive decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, from discovery and validation through delivery, launch, and optimization.
  • Experience leading and developing senior product and growth leaders, with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.
  • High comfort level operating in ambiguity, with the ability to navigate evolving requirements, shifting priorities, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
  • Consulting or advisory background (strategy, product, or digital transformation) is a strong asset.
  • Data-driven mindset, leveraging analytics and performance metrics to guide prioritization, measure success, and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to align engineering, sales, marketing, risk, and compliance teams toward shared goals.
  • Strong awareness of competitive dynamics and emerging trends across fintech, payments, open banking, and SaaS ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, capable of translating complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Change leadership experience, particularly in driving adoption of new platforms, operating models, or technologies at scale.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and modern digital collaboration tools, with a demonstrated ability to quickly adopt and leverage new technologies.
