The Opportunity:
The Corporate Strategy Analyst role is to provide critical market insights, evaluate business opportunities and bring day-to-day support for strategic initiatives for the organization. The role provides significant analytical and research capabilities as well as, providing strategic problem-solving skills to the Corporate Strategy team.
This is a hybrid role with flexible onsite expectations, typically 1 to 2 days per week. New employees are expected to be onsite 2 to 3 times a week during their first three months to support onboarding and collaboration. #LI-Hybrid
About The Role:
- Support the development of corporate strategies by conducting in-depth market research and competitive analysis.
- Assist in evaluation of new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and monitor their progress.
- Support leadership in strategic decision-making by working with Corporate strategy team to provide helpful insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Own ongoing industry and macro environment monitoring including regulatory changes, technological advancements, and economic trends affecting the financial services industry.
- Support the annual strategic planning cycle, including environmental scans, scenario planning, and goal-setting exercises.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2-4 years in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or a related role/field.
Skill requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to senior stakeholders.
- Very strong Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a focus on results.
- Comfortable working in an environment with high degree of ambiguity.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional settings.
- Understanding or experience of the Canadian Financial Services industry would be an asset.
