The Opportunity:
The Product Manager is responsible for the driving research and strategy within the Payments and Open Banking team at Symcor. They are the internal and external ‘voice’ of the product, taking necessary actions to ensure the product strategies’ success and client engagement with the product. This role should be able to lead cross-functional meetings to define and execute new products and services.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

About The Role:
- Contribute to the development and execution of go-to-market (GTM) plans and commercialization activities for new products and enhancements
- Support the definition of product value propositions, pricing inputs, and positioning strategies
- Define and create high-level product requirements, product flows and use case development following an agile methodology
- Conduct market research, engage with customers and industry experts to understand and identify market needs and product opportunities; gathers customer feedback to further improve the product
- Present and playback business problems / opportunities to customers and potential partners for refinement, engaging product solution team as they facilitate customer journey mapping and concept development activities
- Present product opportunities for advancement and prioritization, working closely with product solution team
- Participate and support client workshops with key stakeholders (Operations, Sales, Technology, Functional partners)
- Document and present high-level requirements to product solution and development teams (e.g. epics, user stories), work closely with scrum team to prioritize and authorize backlog, features and releases
- Authorize enhancements of products and as required evaluate customization and enhancement requests on the product
- Taking into consideration market needs and analysis of successful and lost opportunities, improve the functionality of existing products to effectively contribute to the attainment of the product(s) objectives.
- Monitor and analyze product performance and trends and direct other internal departments to take appropriate actions to ensure product financial objectives are met.
- Ongoing monitoring of the health and performance of the product, throughout the product lifecycle.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- University Degree – Undergraduate or Business graduate preferred
- Relevant certifications within Product Management are preferred
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager with a background in Payments, Strategy/Transformation
- Experience with supporting commercialization and GTM of new products and product enhancements
- Experienced in actionable market research
Skill requirements
- Domain expertise: Banking, Financial services, Fintech background preferred
- Research expertise: In-depth expertise in conducting market research (products and features), customer interviews, pricing strategies etc.
- Leadership skills: Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, and ability to influence without authority
- Strategic ability: Ability to dive deep into the nitty-gritty details during research and cut through the noise to get to the core of the problem that can be potentially monetized and productized
- Software Skills: Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suite specifically with Excel
