Serving Up Smiles at Home

As a Cafeteria Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, supporting customers for payment and processing, point of sale system operations and general sanitary maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria area. Led by the Office Services/HR Support Supervisor, this opportunity suits someone with strong customer service skills and experience with food preparation.

Shift available:

Night Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 11:00pm – 7:00am

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:

• Assist with preparing and serving meals, including baked goods, and restocking items such as the pop cooler, chips, and napkins.
• Assist with the handling of cash using a point-of-sale system.
• Assist with the receiving, handling and put away of orders for the kitchen.
• Ensure efficient kitchen operations, safe operation of equipment, handling of materials, and compliance with Home Hardware safety procedures.
• Keep the cafeteria and kitchen clean, ensure equipment and furnishings are in good condition, maintain food quality, follow established standards and other duties as assigned.

We’re looking for:

• Valid Safe Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience with food preparation in a kitchen and/or restaurant environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a reliable work ethic.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple competing deadlines.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability to provide coverage on other shifts when needed.
• The ability to be onsite 5 days a week at our Dealer Support Centre in Debert, to accommodate the needs of the role.

• Starting rate: $21.50/hour, with scheduled increases up to our three-year rate of $25.90.
• Shift premium: Nights: $1.75/hour
