Keep Merchandise Moving at Home
To direct and maintain timely and integral flow of merchandise received into the Distribution centers in an accurate and efficient manner, with emphasis on providing the best service level and Dealer satisfaction. This position is also the primary R.F. (radio frequency) warehouse contact and support for maintaining the RF workflow.

- Main contact and liaison between the DC’s and the Merchandise Managers on all aspects of incoming merchandise; ensuring critical information is relayed and communicated between centers to assist in maintaining efficiency at each center and facilitate the handling of receiving issues.
- Primary R.F. (radio frequency) warehouse contact and support for maintaining RF workflow, including program testing, software enhancement requests, frontline hardware diagnostics & troubleshooting.
- Direct daily operation of Receiving, setting guidelines & standards for performance; monitoring the Team Member and production results and ensure the Team Members comply with policy and procedure.
- Directs the receipt, relieving and transfer of inventory within the D.C. (and Off-site storage facilities), ensuring accuracy of inventory adjustments on PC and RF applications; reviewing and maintaining the integrity of the open receiving memo, held receipts, zero BOH, dock to stock and transaction reports. Working closely with warehouse Supervisors and Inventory checkers re: problem receipts.
- Ensure year-end auditing requirements are met. Each year, the process of incoming receiving transactions must have a clear and final cutoff. This requirement is a major component required by the auditors.
- Partner with the Inventory/Trailer Coordinator on inbound volumes and direction of inventory based on forecasts. Coordinate with the Receiving Team, Inventory/Trailer Coordinator and Off-Site Supervisors to ensure allocated freight from off-site facilities is located in Wetaskiwin prior to daily order drop.
- Ensure suppliers with respect to “Home’s Supplier Guide” are following proper shipping guidelines, palletization standards - packaging, UPC labeling, TDG-transportation of dangerous goods requirements, proper documentation of inbound shipments – ASN and packing slip info following deliveries to all St. Jacobs’ receiving facilities.
- Distribution contact using the CHEP portal for the CHEP and CPC pallet program. Assisting with the yearly national audit in Wetaskiwin and off-site storage facilities. Responsible for record keeping for all pallet returns and receipts.
- Set appointment times with Suppliers and Common carriers for deliveries into Wetaskiwin to ensure manageable workload & flow of merchandise onto the docks. Assist Home Hardware Dispatcher with prioritizing pickups / backhauls,
- Attend Management and Supervisory meetings as required to stay current with company initiatives and policy.
- Respond to inquiries from Team Members, Dealers, Suppliers, and Carriers regarding product status.
- Communicate to Pricing / Merchandise Services, vendor, UPC, & item description changes to ensure accurate and current information is maintained.
We’re looking for:
- 3-5 years’ experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to convey issues concisely and accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- Thorough understanding of Home Hardware systems and products.
- Transportation and warehouse knowledge a must.
- Computer skills including PC, RF, Word, Outlook, Excel, Oracle and the internet is required.
- Ability to diagnose system and software problems.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with previous supervisory or managerial experience an asset.
- Willingness to upgrade people and job skills.
