As the Graphic Designer- Private Brands you will design, refresh, and refine private brand packaging for a diverse range of consumer goods. Led by the Manager, Sourcing and Private Brands, this opportunity will best suit someone who is creative and has experience developing compelling visual packaging that aligns with brand standards.
*Please note this is an 18-month term position.
Ready to make an impact? Here’s how:
  • Using vendor-supplied copy bullet points, finesse or create copywriting conducive to consumer expectations and brand tone of voice.
  • Using vendor-supplied dielines - design, modify, and finalize packaging artwork for private label consumer goods across multiple categories (e.g., tools, housewares, seasonal, etc.).
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines, compliance with legal/labeling regulations (Consumer Packaging Act, etc.), and adherence to Home Hardware specifications.
  • Prepare production-ready files and manage file hand-offs to printers, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners including merchandising, translation, sourcing, and quality assurance.
  • Translate creative briefs into compelling packaging designs that reflect brand positioning and product differentiation.
  • Conduct visual research and stay updated on packaging trends, competitive benchmarks, and consumer behavior insights.
  • Organize and manage a high volume of projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
We’re looking for:
  • Diploma in Graphic Design with 3-5 years of experience in consumer packaging.
  • Demonstrated creative ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time.
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Suites, Adobe Creative Suites.
  • (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) in a PC or MAC environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of packaging and print and/or graphic/production and prepress procedures and related software.
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
