Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a talented Jira Developer to support the Sr.Manager of Jira and ServiceNow team in Service Management group. The Jira Developer will be responsible for understanding the current processes, identify gaps, develop, and deliver customized projects to meet the requirements of the stakeholders. The Jira Developer will be working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and other developers to increase efficiency, automate work and streamline the current development process.

We are open to hire for our Montreal or Greater Toronto Area Location.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop workflow solutions and automations to streamline our processes and drive insights into our network and services to help ensure best customer experience possible.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment in a smaller devops team where you will collaborate with teams across the company to continuously deliver business workflow implementation and automation through Jira/Confluence.
  • Drive best practices and standardization of processes and reporting across Agile project delivery at Rogers
  • Listen to the Business units across Rogers to identify areas of improvements/issues, build requirements and implement them.
  • Collaborate with a team that designs, configures, manages, and supports Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence).
  • Work with business primes to evaluate JIRA and Confluence plug-ins, determine licensing needs, and perform testing, installation, and configuration of plug-ins.
  • Document standards, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system.
  • Solution and implement system integrations between Jira and other corporate systems such as Mural What you have

Your technical skills include:

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting, solutioning and/or administering IT servers and applications
  • Education: undergraduate university degree in computer engineering/computer science.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and upgrading Atlassian Data Center applications of Confluence, Crowd, and/or Jira
  • 2 -5 years’ experience in both waterfall and Agile/SAFe, ideally in a technology environment.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Capable to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work on complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of various factors to determine all options and arrive at the best solution
  • Creative and effective decision making to solve problems/achieve results
  • Working knowledge with Python, Java, CSS, HTML and JavaScript skills
  • Working knowledge of Simple Issue Language™ (SIL) and Groovy for Jira scripting. Familiarity with database and MS SQL administration and demonstrated competency in writing SQL queries.
  • Solid analytical skills (ability to visualize data and make insights)
  • Knowledge of consuming web services (REST/SOAP)
  • Understanding of JIRA workflows, permissions schemes, notification schemes, screen schemes, etc.
  • Agile Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system is an asset
  • Experience with creating customized reports and charts using EazyBi and BigPicture is also an asset
