Position Summary:
The purpose of this role is to plan, design and optimize PointClickCare's workspace environments. This role involves coordinating with the Workplace Experience Senior Director and Project Design Manager to ensure that office layouts and projects meet the needs of the employees and align PointClickCare operational and organizational goals.
The WE Engineer is responsible for managing PCC's portfolio of properties day-to-day operations and building and associated programs. This position is highly customer oriented & focused, experienced in building systems and in negotiating, tracking, and implementing maintenance contracts, schedules. Is intimately knowledgeable with all building, fire and safety codes etc. and is the first line of response for any and all building related emergencies such as floods, power outages, etc. Designs office reconfigurations on AutoCAD and works with external vendors to execute small projects and repairs. Has a keen knowledge of vendor management, compliance and is an advocate of health and safety. This position requires to be on call 24/7 for building-related emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage space utilization data for all locations - Assist with space planning and design modifications to enhance office layouts and facilities for better workflow enhancing employee satisfaction through engagement initiatives.
  • Feasibility Studies - Collaborate with Senior Director and Design Project Manager on space layouts, furniture reconfigurations and propose design recommendations based on in-house client needs.
  • Enhance office layouts and facilities for better workflow.
  • Ensure that all PointClickCare facilities are designed built and maintained to meet building and fire codes.
  • Intimate working knowledge of office safety and compliance, building codes and health and safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain department databases, AutoCAD drawings, project as-builts and schedules including real estate floorplans, FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment), construction finishes, samples, and standards for all capital projects and internal department website.
  • Support real estate projects by collaborating with the Senior Director and Design Project Manager to plan and execute small projects and decommissioning facilities. Work with internal stakeholders, external vendors and consultants to solicit quotes and scheduling work.
  • Collaborate on Workplace Experience Design Manager & operations to implement initiatives and tasks, landlord induced base building upgrades & liaise with Property Management teams as required.
  • Create and distribute Workplace Experience communications.
  • Assist WE Sr leadership with all emergency response items issues. Work closely with building owners to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Report and work closely with emergency response team in execution remediation & resolution.
  • Assists as required in event reconfiguration of rooms, areas such PCC Café & Hub and decor as needed.
  • Implement workplace technologies for seamless collaboration.
  • Coordinate office services and amenities.
  • Provide customer service support to both internal and external stakeholders regarding facilities-related inquiries.
  • Ensure a positive and efficient hybrid or in-office work experience.
  • Work location expectations: Mississauga office - 75%; Toronto office (The Well) - 25%

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / degree in business related discipline
  • 3-5 years experience in facilities space management / design
  • Expertise in AutoCAD
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Support after-hour projects as required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • AI Fluency and/or use of M365 Copilot

Preferred Experience:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, CMP or PMP designation.
  • Professional designation such as FMP, CFM etc
  • FM software
