The Vendor Management, Lead – Strategy & Operations will be responsible for overseeing several vendor management frameworks, policies and processes. This role will oversee Interac’s Enterprise Vendor Management Framework (EVMF), Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) program, and be the vendor management representative for all internal audits and Core Assurance Reviews with respect to Interac’s designation as a Prominent Payment System by the Bank of Canada. This role will report to the Head, Vendor & Business Continuity Management and collaboratively work to set strategies in place to improve VMO’s processes while overseeing major strategic implementation of tools (AuditBoard and SalesForce.com for VMO).

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Oversee the Enterprise Vendor Management Framework and supporting policies and procedures.

  • Manage all the frameworks and policies to ensure they are updated annually to reflect changes and improvements to our processes and workflows.

  • Optimize operational effectiveness by identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and implementing practices, tools, and technology to improve workflows and processes.

  • Create new procedures and procedure documents as required to support the day-to-day operations of VMO.

  • Oversee the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program including all policies and procedures, AuditBoard implementation and functionality.

  • Improve and update the TPRM program within AuditBoard to meet the evolving needs of Interac to comply with its audit and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead operational planning process for the team, including annual/quarterly business planning and developing the long-term technology strategy to improve workflow management and create efficiencies.

  • In collaboration with the Head, VMO work to develop materials for annual and quarterly planning sessions.

  • Partnering with Legal, IT Security, Privacy, Risk Management, and other functions to develop, implement and continuously improve the technology strategy for VMO.

  • Oversee project planning to ensure successful and ongoing implementation of team-sponsored project through effective project management, stakeholder management, timelines, budgets and resources.

  • Represent VMO team on all internal audits (providing evidence requests), and preparing all evidence and responses for the Core Assurance Reviews conducted by the Bank of Canada.

  • Drive and support team operational excellence by conducting research, providing education to the leadership team on best practices to improve overall operational effectiveness.

  • Create data and metrics to enhance reporting capabilities that demonstrate value, measure progress, and provide insights into opportunities for improved effectiveness and better-informed decision making.

  • Facilitate training and enablement sessions for VMO team and Interac stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of new technology, processes and general responsibilities and accountabilities.

  • Develop team knowledge management practices facilitate organizational-wide training on VMO topics and/or VMO processes and procedures.

You bring:

  • An Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management operations.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Knowledge and understanding of vendor management operations and related competencies (financial planning, records management, legal, technology implementation and support, information governance,

  • Experience in business management, project management, change management and process development a must have.

  • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of vendor management/governance processes, third party risk management, process improvement and optimization strategies, best practices.

  • Self-starter mindset with a drive for continuous improvement by staying informed on best practices in operational management and technology.

  • Results-oriented mindset with demonstrated abilities in operational excellence and working both independently and collaboratively to move projects forward.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and training/education skills.

  • Relationship building and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop trust and confidence, work effectively and collaborate with individuals across multiple functions and levels.

  • The ability to prioritize and manage workloads in an environment that is continuously evolving.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-profile priorities.

  • The ability to leverage technological tools to enhance process efficiency and build reports as necessary.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, MS Teams).

  • The ability to independently manage competing priorities with sensitivity to internal stakeholders and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated maturity, sound judgement, discretion, and an ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive material and information.
