The Corporate Communications, Lead, is a key member of a fast-paced and high-performing Marketing & Corporate Communications department. The Corporate Communications team is a cross-functional, multi-skilled practice team, where this Lead has the opportunity to work on external communication programs to drive quarterly and annual business objectives. This role is responsible for strategic external communications planning, execution and measurement to support key corporate and product communications and thought leadership initiatives.

Reporting to the Leader, Corporate Communications, the Lead will work cross functionally with internal stakeholders and other members of the team, including those responsible for Product & Innovation, Internal Communications, Government Relations & Public Affairs and Sponsorship & Citizenship to drive the department’s business-aligned communication goals and support the organization’s corporate strategy. The Lead will also work closely with leaders from across the organization to effectively promote the depth and breadth of business expertise to our key external audience.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing sophisticated public relations programing, designed to communicate key product and brand initiatives to customers, media, associations and other key stakeholders.

  • Leading multi-faceted and integrated B2C and B2B communications campaigns across traditional and digital media channels that will raise awareness, enhance perception and drive adoption of key products and services.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key media outlets and influencers.

  • Crafting compelling communications content, including media materials, press releases, media pitches, digital content, key message documents and speaking remarks.

  • Telling corporate stories, particularly those that leverage data and payments innovation through executive and employee thought leaders via various communications channels – media, website, social, sponsorships, associations, community partnerships and more.

  • Briefing and preparing executives for media interviews, speaking engagements and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Managing corporate reputational risk by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating issues and risks impacting reputation with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Navigating complex organizations, influencing decision making and leading tough conversations by demonstrating strong executive presence. Understanding how the latest communications channels can be optimized for communications programs as part of an overall strategy.

  • Working within an integrated marketing and communications team, supporting product and brand PR.

  • Effectively managing agency partners to deliver strategic PR programing.


You bring:

  • 6-8 years of corporate communications or public relations related experience, preferably within an agency environment

  • A genuine passion and curiosity for the ever-growing and changing industry of technology, payments and data .

  • A university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline like PR, journalism or public affairs.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • You are a natural collaborator and build relationships easily.

  • You are a team player, ready to execute on multiple projects.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and can prioritize effectively.

  • Well versed in PR strategies like media relations, thought leadership and digital communications.

  • Financial, technology or consulting experience is an asset.

  • French skills are an asset.

  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.
