We're looking for an experienced, motivated hands-on engineer who brings ideas about large-scale design, security, Cloud, and testing technologies; As a senior software developer, you'll apply your deep expertise in designing, developing and delivering an Integrated Pipeline required to deliver our world class data security solution. You need to be versatile, display leadership qualities and open minded to take on new problems that our customers face.
IBM Guardium Data Protection is a market leader in the data security domain. This enterprise-grade product protects sensitive data across hybrid cloud environments, databases, data warehouses, big data platforms, and file systems, serving thousands of customers globally.
IBM Software Developers perform DevOps/platform Engineering. They design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using leading edge and/or proven technologies. They work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand stakeholder requirements. They design, code, and test innovative component-level software solutions; ensure that the implemented solutions are unit-tested and ready to be integrated into their product. They contribute to the automated CI/CD pipeline that takes their code through the various quality stages, and also debug customer-reported problems: designs, develops and unit tests code fixes.
Essential Job FunctionsAnalyzes and designs pipeline modules, features or components required for an optimum CICD solution
Configure Orchestration frameworks for continuous deployment
Develops, tests, documents and maintains complex software delivery pipelines for assigned systems, applications and/or products. Gathers and evaluates software project requirements and apprises appropriate individual(s)
Codes, tests and debugs new pipelines or enhances existing pipelines
Troubleshoots and resolves or recommends solutions to complex software problems
Provides senior level support and mentoring by evaluating pipeline enhancements for feasibility studies and providing completion time estimates. Assists management with the planning, scheduling, and assigning of projects to software development personnel
Ensures product quality by participating in design reviews, code reviews, and other mechanisms
Lead release management process and coordinate cross-functional teams for release planning
Establish quality gates and release criteria for Guardium products
Drive automation metrics and KPIs across the development lifecycle
Works in an agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems, which may include software installations, updates, and core services
Ensures delivery pipeline from dev/test, staging and production and perform A/B testing
Automates, measures and optimizes the system performance, availability, and processes
Designs and implements tools for automated deployment and monitoring of multiple environments
Leverage AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, IBM Bob, or similar) to accelerate pipeline development, automate infrastructure code generation, and optimize DevOps workflows
Champion the adoption of AI/ML techniques for predictive analytics, intelligent alerting, and automated incident response in CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery
Rich experience in automated pipeline-based delivery from development to production
Ability to design and implement automated pipelines that are testable, re-usable and easy to maintain
Understanding of secure engineering practices and implement these using pipelines
Background in automation using Jenkins (configuration, job management, writing shared libraries, hooks etc.)
Ability to design and maintain tasks in Gradle, NPM and Docker
Expertise in source code management (preferably GIT)
Knowledge of logging frameworks or ELK(Elastic, logstash, Kibana)
Working knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience with deploying application in at least one major public cloud provider (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc) or large scale private/hybrid cloud using container orchestration such as OpenShift
Good problem-solving skills and proficiency in Java or Groovy
Ability to manage multiple projects, while ensuring that commitments and timelines are met
Strong leadership and team management skills
Works with development teams to enable a continuous integration environment that sustains high productivity levels and emphasizes defect prevention techniques
Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
Using and configuring Artifactory
Strong scripting skills in at least one language (BASH, Python, Ruby, Go)
Familiarity with a configuration management framework (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.)
Experience with monitoring frameworks (Nagios, Prometheus, etc)
Knowledge of security compliance and audit requirements
Experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress, Selenium)
Works with tools like Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Docker, and UrbanCode
Experience with AI/ML-powered DevOps tools for predictive maintenance, intelligent monitoring, or automated remediation
Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, IBM Bob, or similar AI coding assistants
Knowledge of AIOps platforms and their integration into CI/CD pipelines
Experience with AI-driven code review tools and automated security scanning
