Your role and responsibilities

As an Infrastructure SRE, you will design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using leading-edge and/or proven technologies. You will work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand stakeholder requirements and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. This role requires a mix of strategic engineering and design, along with hands-on technical work. You must have experience building and managing infrastructure on-prem and in the Cloud, have coding skills to automate tasks and build tools to help with operations and our environment(s). You will also configure, tune and troubleshoot systems within the environment to reach optimal application performance, stability and availability. You will focus on collaborating with other teams to design new internal solutions that increase operational efficiency. You should have a solid understanding of security and compliance and the need to assess, implement and document security related processes in our on-prem, Cloud and Hybrid environments. You should be able to provide metrics and reporting to ensure compliance with IBM CISO and Enterprise risk and security, regulatory policies, standards and procedures and guidelines. You will also be required to identify and evaluate security threats with high business impact and take appropriate action.

Strong architecture and design knowledge to deliver highly available and reliable solutions.

• Solid understanding of security and compliance.

• Experience owning and supporting a service, creating run books, 24/7 uptime and support. Availability to handle critical issues outside business hours.
• Knowledge and experience working in Linux/Unix/AIX, Windows environments.
• Ability to build, manage and maintain container orchestrating environments like Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Working knowledge of current scripting languages and implement automated solutions where possible.

• Knowledge of Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)

• Experience with networking architecture coupled with an understanding of networking fundamentals.

• Advanced knowledge deploying, managing Cloud environments and architecture.

• Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, etc.

• Experience migrating enterprise applications to the Cloud.

• Exposure to Agile methodology and tools (e.g., Standups, Jira, Monday)

• One or more professional or security certifications (AWS, Security+, CISSP, etc.)
• Have an "automate first" mentality around things such as incident response, infrastructure, monitoring, and play-books.

• Ability to balance supporting current technology while simultaneously re-engineering for the future.

• Self-starter who can align with organizational goals and objectives and operate with only high-level direction.

• Hands on experience with Release/Change Management processes.

• Maintains product knowledge of current and future security technologies and architectures.

• Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to track project status and collaborate with teams to resolve any evolving risks/issues.

• Knowledge of infrastructure and ability to coordinate with development teams to setup new infrastructure.

• Implement security controls to protect the organization’s infrastructure and digital footprint.

• Good understanding of Security Architecture, Application Design, and Integration.
