Your role and responsibilities

Seeking a Cross Communications Professional — a proactive and creative storyteller who can bring our brand to life across multiple platforms. This role will lead communications for Indonesia, spanning external and stakeholder engagement, alongside employee and executive communications, ensuring a cohesive and impactful narrative across all audiences.

You will act as a steward for IBM's brand and reputation as an “Enterprise AI Leader” establishing a clear narrative on IBM’s differentiators

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop & execute comprehensive communications strategy to support business objectives and priorities such as signature moments aligned to the national agenda, driving strong impact.
  • Create compelling campaigns underpinned by themes such as Digital Sovereignty, Smarter Business, aimed at influencing media, driving positive impact with clients, business partners, industry bodies, governments, influencers, and alumni.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Government & Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sales, Marketing and the Business Partner organization to achieve business objectives while identifying news opportunities, client stories and other newsworthy angles.
  • Act as expert representing IBM with the media to position IBM’s solutions and capabilities to elicit interest and enhance brand perception.
  • Inform and activate IBMers around IBM’s strategy and inspire them to become advocates for the IBM brand.
  • Set and track progress against communications measures of success for the country aligned to key KPIs.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Conceptualize and execute both internal and external communication strategies to drive greater visibility and thought leadership for the IBM brand in ASEAN.
  • Build and manage mindshare for the IBM brand and capabilities by leveraging relationships with key media and various external stakeholders in the region.
  • Inform and activate IBMers around IBM’s strategy and inspire them to become advocates for the IBM brand through channels like employee townhall.
  • Develop and craft compelling content and messaging for key IBM imperatives aligned to business strategies.
  • Localise global narratives, conceptualise ASEAN wide campaigns, that support country specific national agenda to drive consistent storytelling.
  • Partner with business leaders and marketing teams to tell success stories and bring IBM’s differentiators to the forefront.
  • Collaborate with analyst relations, social media and global team to identify opportunities for storytelling
  • Stay ahead of the curve by bringing fresh thinking, innovation, and creativity to external engagement strategies.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Strong experience in strategizing and executing plans that engage traditional and social media to build strong brand preference.
  • Extensive and deep relationships with top tier business and technology media in Malaysia
  • Highly skilled in developing strong narratives that align to Malaysia's national agenda.
  • Able to identify key industry/client opportunities and execute tactics that build favourable mindshare.
  • Competent in acting as a strategic advisor to senior management and key stakeholders.
