In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a Project Manager for Cloud Solutions, you will oversee the successful delivery of cloud-based solutions to clients, managing project scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables to ensure alignment with service orders or contracts. You will employ project management techniques such as the Garage Method for Cloud, Design Thinking, and Agile Delivery Model to drive solution delivery.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Manage Project Scope and Deliverables: Oversee project scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables to ensure alignment with service orders or contracts, employing project management techniques such as the Garage Method for Cloud, Design Thinking, and Agile Delivery Model.
• Lead Delivery Team: Lead the delivery team and interface with client project managers and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. • Interface with Clients: Collaborate with client project managers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that project deliverables meet their expectations.
• Apply Project Management Methodologies: Apply project management techniques such as the Garage Method for Cloud, Design Thinking, and Agile Delivery Model to drive solution delivery.
• Ensure Technical Alignment: Ensure that project deliverables align with technical requirements, including cloud migration, continuous modernization, and coexistence architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Agile Facilitation: Lead and coordinate Scrum ceremonies across multiple pods, ensuring alignment, transparency, and accountability;
• Scaled Agile Coordination: Manage cross-team dependencies, facilitate release planning, and support PI planning sessions in a scaled agile environment;
• Backlog & Sprint Management: Use Jira (or similar tools) to manage backlogs, track sprint progress, monitor velocity, and generate burndown charts and performance reports;
• Release Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for release coordination, including stakeholder communication, deployment readiness, go/no-go decisions, and sign-off processes;
• Team Empowerment: Act as a servant leader, removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement;
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Product Owners, technical leads, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, goals, and delivery timelines;
• Support Integration: Coordinate agile practices across both development and support teams, ensuring operational stability and responsiveness to incidents.
Scaled Agile Facilitation & Coordination
· Proven experience managing multi-pod teams (15+ people).
· Skilled in facilitating PI planning, release planning, and managing cross-team dependencies.
Advanced Jira Proficiency
· Expertise in backlog management, sprint tracking, velocity monitoring, and generating agile reports (burndown charts, dashboards).
Strong Communication & Stakeholder Management
· Ability to engage with Product Owners, technical leads, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
Scrum Mastery & Agile Coaching
· Deep understanding of Scrum principles and ability to coach teams and stakeholders in agile best practices.
Team Empowerment & Servant Leadership
· Skilled in removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Release Management
· Experience coordinating deployments, stakeholder communication, and go/no-go decisions.
Support Integration
· Ability to balance feature development and support operations within agile frameworks.
Risk Management
· Proactive in identifying and mitigating delivery risks and dependencies.
Technical Acumen
· Familiarity with modern tech stacks (e.g., Java, ETL, AWS Glue, Postgres) to support technical discussions.
Empirical Process Control
· Promote data-driven decision-making and iterative improvement.
Conflict Resolution
· Navigate and resolve team conflicts constructively.
Transparency & Documentation
· Maintain clear, accessible documentation of agile artifacts and team progress.
Metrics & Reporting
· Track key agile metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Adaptability
· Thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities.
