Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Test/Quality Engineer with a strong understanding of the NFS protocol and experience in testing distributed systems or storage solutions.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently validating new features, building and maintaining automation frameworks, and collaborating closely with development and CI teams to ensure high-quality enterprise releases.

This role requires strong analytical skills, solid Linux fundamentals, and the ability to debug complex issues across multiple system components.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Independently validate new features and enhancements with strong understanding of NFS v3 and v4.x protocols
  • Perform functional, regression, and stability testing across NFS server implementations and HA deployments
  • Understand and test distributed system architectures and storage workflows
  • Design and maintain Python-based automation frameworks
  • Integrate and execute test suites within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Validate failover, recovery, upgrades, and node/network failure scenarios
  • Perform debugging using server-side and client-side logs
  • Report defects with clear reproduction steps and analysis
  • Collaborate with development, CI, and release teams
  • Communicate risks, coverage gaps, and testing status clearly

  • Own feature testing from design review to release sign-off
  • Improve automation coverage and overall test quality
  • Ensure enterprise-grade reliability of NFS-based solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Must Have

  • Experience in testing distributed systems / storage / filesystem products
  • Proficiency in Python automation (Pytest or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD and Jenkins
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Git-based workflows
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and own features end-to-end
  • Curiosity and upskill in learning new technologies.

Good to Have (Preferred)

  • Experience with distributed storage systems such as Ceph
  • Familiarity with NFS-Ganesha and understanding of NFS v3 and v4 protocols
  • Exposure to containerized environments and orchestration tools
  • Understanding of new AI tools and ways to integrate them in testing cycles.
