Your role and responsibilities

As a Platform Developer on the Client Engineering team you'll be a key player in a multi-disciplinary team made up of Architects, AI Specialists and Designers that deliver co-creation of Proofs of Value (PoV) jointly with our client's to demonstrate the business impact of IBM’s Automation, Data/AI and Hybrid Cloud solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Solution and Technical Proof Points Expertise - contribute to the design of viable client solutions by leveraging IBM product capabilities and deliver a technical proof point that removes technical inhibitors and gains the client's confidence of how IBM's innovative automation, data and hybrid cloud products and solutions can meet their business needs and accelerate their transformation.
  • Cloud Expertise Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills (e.g,. AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, security, networking, and storage) with deep industry expertise and understanding of your clients' businesses to help identify opportunities where IBM’s Technology can accelerate customers’ success. Clearly articulate the related architecture, technology, and solution guidance across hybrid multi-cloud platforms define how IBM's solutions can fit within their target environment to ease path to deployment.
  • Value Communication: Define, demonstrate and communicate the differentiated value of IBM's technology both technically and commercially.
  • Solution Support: identifying requirements to make technical decisions that impact the business case. Support the solutions architecture plan and be a hands-on "builder" in client-facing engagements. Advise on solution architecture to align with platform best practices and focus on our clients’ target environment to ease transition to deployment.
  • Transition to Deployment: Provide a seamless transition to our clients by transitioning platform assets and information.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Experience in delivering customer-facing technical solutions in automation or data domain (e.g., identifying requirements to meet the clients' business needs, defining the architecture, delivery of complex application modernization solutions).
  • Experienced in participating in technical or architecture discussions with client's and ability to connect them to the customers’ business challenges and context.
  • Working knowledge in at least one common cloud native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, or language in similar discipline.)
  • Strong team collaboration and ability to navigate different communication styles.
  • Excellent communication skills: Possess verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that are engaging, compelling and influential.
  • Growth mindset, motivated to work with clients, able to balance multiple priorities and can lead projects independently.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent technical degree/experience

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Experience in being hands-on with automation software, platforms and products. Examples includes application development, application integration, network management, IT automation and observability, and/or asset lifecycle management
  • Experience in deploying and operating solutions on cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or IBM Cloud, and their respective services, including compute, storage, and networking.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.. CNCF, AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps).
  • Experience working with DevOps and MLOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring, to deploy strategic software across a hybrid cloud.
