Your role and responsibilities

You will work as a Technical Specialist in the area of IBM Infrastructure Sales - Technical Sales.

With a team positioned across Germany, this organization acts as a competent point of contact and trusted advisor for customers, business partners and internal IBM stakeholders when it comes to structured solution approaches—whether for on‑premises data center operations, cloud environments or hybrid scenarios.

The scope of responsibility includes conducting briefings, workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, business case analyses, competitive positioning, product launches and much more. In line with current market developments, the main focus areas are Hybrid Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Application Modernization and Cyber Security.

Your responsibilities will include:

As a permanent member of the Technical Sales team, you will support its activities with a particular focus on the growth areas of Cyber Security / Hybrid Cloud and AI & Red Hat / OpenShift on Power. You will independently develop structured approaches and methods to clearly articulate the added value of various IBM and open‑source solutions for end customers.

To achieve this, you will engage the necessary skills and resources from other teams—both nationally and internationally, across research, development, software and services. In doing so, you will simultaneously learn how to operate within a global matrix organization.

The scope of the role allows you sufficient time to focus on your master’s studies and ideally provides inspiration and ideas for your master’s thesis.

• Fluency in German and English
• Basic knowledge of information technologies
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Confident communication and presentation skills in both German and English
• Willingness to travel and enthusiasm for working in (international) teams

• Knowledge of Linux
• Programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, etc.)
• Interest in and/or knowledge of computer and processor architectures
