In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate combines strong expertise in modern AI/ML technologies, solid software engineering skills, and a good understanding of data architecture and end‑to‑end model development. You will design and deploy scalable AI solutions—from machine learning models to generative AI and LLM‑based applications—while working with cross‑functional teams to bring them into production.

Just as importantly, you will collaborate closely with business teams to understand their challenges and translate them into practical AI solutions. Your ability to meet stakeholders in person, identify automation opportunities, and co‑design intelligent agents will be central to your role.

Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and deploy AI models and architectures using Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and other relevant Azure technologies, with a focus on Agentic AI principles.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing products and services.

· Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and reliability.

· Ensure data privacy, security, and ethical considerations are integrated into AI solutions.

· Stay ahead of advancements in AI, machine learning, and overall technologies, and propose innovative solutions to improve our offerings.

· Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a culture of learning and development.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Fluent English and Dutch or/and French (written & spoken)

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, with a proven track record of deploying models in production.

• Proven expertise in developing, training, and deploying AI models with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and MLOps tools.

• Experience building Agents and deploying them in production.

• Solid foundation with AI & data architecture and best practices, including design data models, development, testing, and deployment.

• Proficient in Python.

• Strong understanding of AI ethics, governance, guardrails and regulatory standards.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.'

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to provide strategic vision to clients, guiding them towards the best actionable solution to their challenge, with or without AI.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• A master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field would be advantageous.
