Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead AI Architect specializing in AI and AIOps solutions. Based on your experience and certifications, you exemplify the potential to perform as a Chief Architect for major accounts and programs.

As a Lead AI Architect, you will deal with some of the most complex and transformative architectures, demonstrating outstanding technical achievement of significant global impact as well as exemplary leadership of other technical IBMers. You will be responsible for establishing trusted client relationships, acting as the technical advisor to key client executives and leading large, complex technical solutions from solutioning through implementation. You will be a thought leader and client advisor while being a hands-on technologist at the architecture level.

In detail, your responsibilities will be:

Client Priorities:

• Demonstrate sustained technical leadership in directing clients’ processes to help move solutions to market fast and reliably.

• Function as a trusted technology advisor to key clients and IBM Leadership.

• Assist clients in their technical strategy and their execution and the understanding of complexities of bringing varied types of systems together.

• Have the knowledge and experience in the latest technologies (Cloud AI, Data, Edge, etc) to create and apply solutions to our clients, and being an advocate for the client.

Business Priorities:

•Provide technical solution design and delivery leadership and oversight, on key projects or programs within their assigned industry/market/practice.

• Be hands-on in technical solution design.

• Leverage and develop emerging solutions through collaborative development with clients - partnering with Service Lines to create and improve offerings and common templates / frameworks.

• Drive standards and best practices to prevent/recover troubled projects and enhance the
overall asset and solution portfolio for their specialty.

• Engage and leverage eco-system capabilities and partners.

People Priorities:

•Coach and mentor other employees and become a role model for the IBM Technical community.

• Provide technical leadership to other top technical employees - either across a broad technical range or deep in a specific area.

• Participate in Academy of Technology and technology team studies, and represent IBM to
external organizations.

Required technical and professional expertise

The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to effectively manage and execute complex solution architectures.

As a candidate, you must have the following abilities:
* Strong expertise in designing AI/AIOps solutions using industry-standard frameworks and cloud-native tools, ensuring scalability and reliability.
* Existing OpenCA L2 architect certification (proved via Credly).
* Hands-on experience with Python for developing, testing, and deploying AI/ML models to production environments.
* Proficiency in hyperscaler AI tools such as Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, and Azure ML Studio, leveraging their capabilities for advanced AI solutions.
* Adept at integrating AI models into DevOps and AIOps pipelines for proactive issue detection, automation, and operational efficiency.
* Proven ability to leverage generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, for intelligent automation use cases and enhancing client processes.
* Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles using Terraform and Ansible to deploy and manage AI solutions at scale.
* Exceptional client-facing and consulting skills to shape and execute AI-driven transformation strategies tailored to client needs.
* A structured approach to client engagement, ensuring consistent delivery and alignment with business objectives.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward as a self-driven candidate.
* German language skills on at least B2 level.

We expect you to currently act as a seasoned Solution Architect with extensive experience in AI, AIOps, and cloud technologies. You have a deep understanding of scalable AI solution design and deployment, as well as the integration of AI models into operational pipelines. With ability to combine technical expertise with strategic consulting, you are best positioned to serve our clients end-to-end, delivering innovative AI solutions that drive business value.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms: Deep expertise in cloud architectures, including scalability, reliability, and efficiency considerations, to design and implement cognitive solutions. • Knowledge of Probabilistic Systems: Experience with probabilistic and stochastic systems to develop solution blueprints and engineer cognitive systems. • Understanding of Data Sources: Experience with various data sources, content formats, and representations to ensure seamless integration and processing of content in Cognitive Computing solutions.
