Your role and responsibilities

At IBM, our Project Managers play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. As a Project Manager for our premier Software Development Location, you’ll be at the forefront of driving project direction, defining metrics, and managing performance to meet client expectations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Financial Management: Oversee billing, forecasting, backlog certification, accounts receivable, and dispute resolution.
  • Project Monitoring & Reporting: Establish control logs and report on financial status, schedule, risks, and issues to the Project Lead and IBM Management.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Conduct risk analysis, report exposures, and resolve problems related to claims and work items.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Quote to Cash team on invoicing, AR, and disputes. Manage and reconcile customer and vendor purchase orders.
  • Process Improvement & Audit: Audit procedures to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and continuous improvement.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex enterprise system initiatives, ensuring delivery within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Enterprise Systems Consulting: Expertise in packaged application implementations and data analysis projects, with skill in translating complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Client Engagement & Executive Communication: Strong capability to build trusted relationships, lead discussions with senior management, and act as a subject matter expert.
  • IT & FinOps Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT financial management practices (budgeting, cost allocation, CAPEX/OPEX) and operational knowledge of infrastructure domains such as data centers, networks, virtualization, and storage.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Critical thinking, problem‑solving, organizational strength, and effective communication for cross‑functional teams and executive presentations.



Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Specific knowledge and application of IT services, FinOps, financial management including budgeting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application / infrastructure support.
  • Operational knowledge of IT infrastructure domains including data centers, network / communications, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, and application development & maintenance.
