In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Test Management Quality Engineer, you'll leverage your extensive technical expertise and leadership skills to drive innovation and excellence within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive test management strategies
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define system architecture and ensure seamless integration with testing methodologies
- Stay current with emerging testing trends, tools, and best practices
- Contribute to the development of test management strategies and roadmaps

Required technical and professional expertise
- Extensive experience in test management, technical testing, business domain knowledge, and testing methodologies
- Masterful proficiency in core testing, technical testing, and testing methodologies
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality test management solutions in a professional setting
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong foundation in Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience setting up test management activities within JIRA Xray or similar tools
- Knowledge of IBM Ignite for Oracle Cloud Test Automation Platform or other automation testing tools
- Experience writing detailed test plans
- Ability to report complex information clearly and concisely
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery practices
- Understanding of microservices security and resilience patterns
- Knowledge and experience of Shift Left and Quality Engineering principles
- Understanding and experience of testing non-functional and operational acceptance tests is preferred
