Your role and responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for SAP support cases running on IBM Power Systems (AIX/Linux)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues spanning virtualization (PowerVM) and operating systems (AIX/Linux).
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, including dump/trace/log analysis from SAP workloads, OS layer, and virtualization stack.
  • Collaborate with SAP and IBM internal teams to jointly drive resolution of high-priority incidents and provide Root Cause Analysis.
  • Reproduce critical customer scenarios in lab test environments, leveraging debugging tools and trace utilities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and case retrospectives to drive continuous improvement
  • Engage directly with enterprise clients, representing IBM with professionalism and technical authority
  • Contribute to internal enablement sessions, technical workshops, and peer knowledge sharing
  • Provide input to development teams for product enhancements, fixes, and cross-platform support improvements

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise technical development support or systems engineering, preferably with IBM Power Systems
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AIX, Linux on Power (SLES), and diagnostic tools (dump, errpt, snap, logs, perf tools)
  • Strong understanding of PowerVM, LPARs, VIOS, and virtualization concepts
  • Knowledge of system performance tuning, networking, and storage subsystems in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and configuration tools like Ansible
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly, including during escalations and executive-level discussions
  • Experience using ITSM tools like ServiceNow, and working in Agile/DevOps environments
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM Power architecture (POWER9, POWER10), HMC, Virtualization, VIOS, and OS level concepts.
  • IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert – Power Systems or equivalent certifications
  • Experience with SAP on AIX performance optimization and sizing
  • Exposure to IBM Cloud, PowerVS, or hybrid Power + cloud environments
  • Experience publishing technical content or contributing to open-source communities within the Power ecosystem
