Introduction

The Storage RPQ administrator is responsible to manage RPQs (Request for Price Quotation) across the portfolio by providing technical support for product configuration, testing, product features and Subject-Matter-Expert input, providing support to sales personnel for closing the deals.

Your role and responsibilities

The Storage RPQ administrator is responsible to manage RPQs (Request for Price Quotation) across the portfolio by providing technical support for product configuration, testing, product features and Subject-Matter-Expert input, providing support to sales personnel for closing the deals.

As RPQ administrator you will be responsible for:

· Receive and process requests submitted using RPQ tools (SCORE, corporate RPQ tool).

· Work with the product development teams (engineering, test, support) to generate an answer.

· Provide responses to the Sales personnel (IBM internal or business partner). Response may often include special instructions, fixes and service packs required, driver specifications, installation instructions, etc. If the request is rejected, response will need to include the reasons for the rejection.

· Create and release new formal RPQs using corporate RPQ tool. This will include working with product teams to open PCRs (Product Change Request), working with development on Engineering Changes, working with Manufacturing to update their systems, and working with the brand pricers (Storage and Technology Support Services) to get pricing for the RPQ.

· Create summary reports

· Provide updates to product teams regarding RPQ activity.

· Attend product Development meetings.

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Knowledge of IBM Storage products and interoperability (Disk, Flash, Tape, SAN, Software)
  • Knowledge of operating systems (IBM, Linux, Windows, etc) in relationship to interoperability
  • Knowledge of communication protocols used by storage products (FICON, Fibre Channel, FCP, RoCE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of switch technology (fibre channel, ethernet, etc.) in relationship to interoperability
  • Must be able to multi-task, including working on multiple requests throughout the day.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
  • BA/BS required; MS/MBA preferred.
  • Experience working closely with cross functional teams, such as development, brand operations, and program management.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, spanning executives, internal development, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Tools, Requirements Management Tools, and other internal IBM resources

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Hands-on experience as a Project/product Manager professional with technical and operations background like clustering, multi-pathing drivers, and adapter drivers in relationship to interoperability
  • Strong experience on and understanding enterprise IT technologies such as servers, storage, software, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with development and technology customers.
  • Knowledge of IBM sales processes (e-Config, order submission, TDA, etc.)
