In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

Development Lead – Required Skills and Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary technical representative, participating in design discussions and gap analysis
• Assign development tasks to the team and take responsibility for the delivery of all technical components
• Define technical architecture, development standards, and coding best practices
• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to developers
• Estimate development effort, resource needs, and delivery timelines
• Hands‑on experience developing WRICEF objects in S/4HANA and ABAP Cloud environments
• Ability to build RAP‑based Fiori applications
• Strong experience developing CDS Views and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures)
• Expertise in optimizing ABAP code and applications for performance improvements
• Proficiency in designing and implementing integrations using OData, REST, SOAP, and IDocs
• Experience performing enhancements and modifications using the SAP Enhancement Framework (implicit/explicit enhancements, BADIs, user exits)
• Conduct unit testing, support integration testing, and participate as an SME in code reviews
• Ensure alignment with SAP Clean Core Strategy for all development activities
• Work with No‑Code/Low‑Code tools and support process automation on SAP BTP
• Create and maintain technical specifications, design documents, and operational guides

Bachelor's Degree

Associate's Degree/College Diploma

Required technical and professional expertise

• Proven experience in leading and managing technical development teams• Minimum of 10 years of experience in ABAP, with strong expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP development, RAP, Fiori, and S/4HANA• Hands‑on experience with the SAP Enhancement Framework, including BADIs, user exits, and enhancement implementations• Knowledge and exposure to SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)• Understanding of No‑Code/Low‑Code concepts and tools within the SAP ecosystem• Knowledge of Clean Code principles and SAP Clean Core Strategy• Experience integrating with OData, REST, SOAP, and IDocs

Preferred technical and professional experience

The role requires team‑leading experience with strong expertise in SAP ABAP on S/4HANA, along with proficiency in SAP BTP services and cloud application development. The ideal candidate should have experience integrating SAP and non‑SAP systems, leveraging BTP capabilities, and ensuring the efficient, automated delivery of scalable solutions.
