In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with strong banking-sector experience to bridge business needs with technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of banking systems, data integration, and regulatory frameworks. This role includes close collaboration with business, technology, compliance, and IBM delivery teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and help deliver solutions across core banking platforms, digital channels, and supporting systems. Experience in Customer Journey Mapping (CJM) is important to ensure end‑to‑end customer‑focused design.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
• Analyse business and regulatory requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for banking systems and integrations.
• Work closely with stakeholders across retail, commercial, and digital banking to understand processes, data flows, and system interactions.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise across key banking functions, including payments, cards, lending, core banking, regulatory compliance (e.g., PSD2, AML/KYC), and digital banking journeys.
• Collaborate with product, technology, and IBM project teams to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory obligations.
• Support impact assessments for regulatory changes, new product launches, and system improvements.
• Conduct gap analyses comparing current and target states of systems, processes, and data flows.
• Work with architects and development teams to define and validate solution approaches.
• Contribute to the development of data models, system mappings, and integration requirements.
• Review technical designs to ensure they meet business needs and compliance guidelines.
• Use SQL or advanced data analysis methods to validate requirements, perform root‑cause assessments, and support testing (preferred for IBM banking initiatives).
• Support testing and validation to ensure solutions meet business goals, regulatory standards, and data integrity requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with business users, architects, and developers to capture requirements and review proposed solutions.
• Apply Customer Journey Mapping (CJM) to improve customer‑centric design and enhance digital and operational experiences.
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
• Experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, digital channels, and data integration concepts.
• Knowledge of banking products and processes including account management, payments, lending, and treasury operations.
• Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements affecting banking systems (e.g., AML, KYC, PCI‑DSS, SOX, data‑privacy regulations).
• Hands‑on experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, and process‑modelling tools such as Visio, BPMN, or Lucidchart.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail; SQL/data analysis skills are preferred.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and customer journey mapping skills.
