Introduction

The Procurement Sourcing Buyer is responsible for running sourcing projects aligned with both client and organizational goals. Operating within the BPO environment, this role also involves managing supplier relationships driving cost efficiencies, ensuring adherence to procurement policies, whilst focusing on continuous improvement and innovation in sourcing.

The Sourcing Buyer collaborates closely with client stakeholders, Procurement Sourcing Lead / Sourcing Manager, to ensure high-quality service delivery and the achievement of defined savings targets.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Independently execute sourcing projects with focus on contracting
  • Work with Sourcing Lead to create innovative, cost-effective procurement strategies
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and clients through all levels of organization including but not limited to retained Procurement teams, business stakeholders, Legal, and Finance.
  • If required, analyze commodities to identify savings opportunities and improve efficiency launch initiatives as needed
  • Optimize supply base opportunities across managed commodities
  • Act as a Procurement SME, a trusted advisor
  • If applicable, interface with strategic sourcing team to implement strategic contracts
  • Promote process efficiencies through focus on automated channels, where applicable
  • Identify and recommend potential new suppliers to compliment client’s business objectives
  • Track savings in the appropriate tool and store evidence for audit purposes
  • Track and report supplier performance and resolve any supplier performance issues with the Procurement Sourcing Lead.
  • Interact with parallel organizations in other geos to assure consistent global approach
  • Together with Procurement Sourcing Lead, support key stakeholder meetings, to review sourcing activities
  • Ensure compliance with IBM and client business conduct guidelines, policies and processes relevant to the service.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Required technical and professional expertise

Expertise

  • Strong sourcing knowledge with understanding of indirect procurement
  • Deep contracting knowledge
  • Proven experience as a sourcing buyer or similar role
  • Demonstrated supplier relationship management expertise
