Key Requirements
* Practical experience with at least one CI/CD pipeline automation technology such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Tekton, or Bitbucket
* Hands-on experience implementing and managing Quality Gates for code quality and security using tools like SonarQube
* Understanding of release process design and automation in agile environments
* Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
* Familiarity with GitOps principles for environment provisioning and automation
* Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes administration, including Helm chart creation and maintenance
* Knowledge of networking and traffic management solutions such as Service Mesh patterns
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Thanos, Sysdig, LogDNA, Instana, Dynatrace or other industry-wide enterprise solutions
* Basic understanding of database administration concepts, with exposure to Relational and NoSQL databases
* Scripting and automation skills using Bash or PowerShell, with the ability to read and understand Python and Java code
* Solid understanding of security practices including IAM policies, secret management, encryption and certificate management
* Experience working with Scrum/Kanban workflows, backlog refinement, sprint planning and release management
* Administration experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Soft Skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including developers, QA, operations and security
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues under time pressure including production incidents
* Clear communication skills for conveying technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of processes, tooling and system reliability
* Adaptability to learn and integrate new technologies, tools and methodologies as needed
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated delivery pipelines and modern infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. Working closely with development, operations, and security teams, you will streamline deployment processes, manage containerized workloads, and implement monitoring solutions to maintain system health. You will apply Infrastructure as Code practices, support cloud and on‑premise environments and enforce security and compliance standards while driving continuous improvement in agile, collaborative settings.
* Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
* Background in middleware technologies and integration solutions
* General understanding of major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core components, with awareness of current industry trends and ability to leverage cloud capabilities for future growth
* Knowledge of ITIL processes for operational governance
* German language skills are highly appreciated and a strong plus for effective communication in multilingual environments
• Cloud Computing Knowledge: Exposure to cloud computing concepts, including migration and adoption, with understanding of DevOps models and practices. • Scripting and Automation: Experience working with scripting languages and automation tools to streamline testing, deployment, and infrastructure management. • Open Source Technologies: Exposure to open source technologies, including software specification, design, implementation, testing, and deployment, with understanding of continuous integration environments.
