The IBM Global Mobility team is seeking an Americas Immigration Program Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will help create, develop, improve, and deliver processes for North America and South America immigration matters. Your success will be measured by delivering a great employee experience through outstanding customer service and by adding value to our global immigration processes by analyzing criteria, making decisions, and advising key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
● Responsible for Americas immigration processes, serving as point of contact for both North America and South America immigration matters
● Manage the immigration (visa/work permit) services provided to authorized employees to ensure assignees have the required visa, paperwork and support
● Work closely with immigration counsel to track, prepare, and maintain appropriate immigration cases e.g. F-1, H-1B, PERM, green card cases etc.
● Track critical immigration deadlines and initiate follow-up actions in a timely manner
● Provide ongoing support to associates who need immigration process support
● Develop and improve policies and procedures for the immigration and mobility process to meet business needs
● Handle and respond to inquiries from employees and external vendors
● Provide immigration-related expertise, consultation and cost estimates to key stakeholders
● Ensure that delivery of services provided by external vendors are efficient and transparent to ensure complete satisfaction of new hires and transferees
● Track and maintain foreign student tax exemption list for payroll reporting
● Analyze current state of system, processes, and immigration policy and regulations for contingency planning options for known programs and in response to new policy memos
● Educate managers and business partners on immigration strategies and guidelines, as well as related associate concerns
● Provide immigration support to other internal Global Mobility teammates for international transfers and assignments
● 5+ years managing employment-based immigration services or comparable experience in global mobility, HR operations, compliance, or legal within fast-paced, regulated environments
● Experience in managing others, providing work direction, coaching, and performance feedback, and managing vendor/suppliers in an outsourced or hybrid work model – ensuring day-to-day service delivery, SLAs, and KPIs are being met.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills to multi-task and track critical deadlines
● Research ability, assess facts, and determine their impact to the business
● Experience building relationships cross-functionally and driving business-oriented solutions
● Experience exercising judgment and discretion while working with all levels of company leadership
● Experience working hands-on on projects

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
