Your role and responsibilities
This position is responsible for driving IBM revenue by supporting a wide variety of IBM and Business Partner sellers and tech sellers with technical sales activities involving MQ for z/OS and related products, with the priority and focus on the Americas Market. Primary responsibility will be developing expertise in MQ for z/OS and drive customers adoption and growth with MQ for z/OS and related products to maximize their business value. This role also requires teaming with other members of WSC to ensure synergy between MQ for z/OS and the rest of the z/OS and Z platform offerings as part of customer solutions. The expected tasks and activities include but are not limited to participate as subject matter expert (SME) in WSC Z Health Checks (zHC) and provide technical pre-sales support in other customer engagements, developing intellectual capital, workshops, demos, and other ‘show me’ collateral in support of MQ for z/OS contributions to strategic and tactical solutions offered to IBM customers. The Job location will be at one of the key Infrastructure locations.
Key Job Duties:
- Contribute to Z Health Check and pre-sales customer engagement as well as Critical Situation (CritSit) activities for customers
- Develop workshop/learning materials in support of MQ for z/OS Continuous Delivery to promote customer deployment of related products and solutions
- Engage with IBM and/or partner teams to provide deep technical knowledge of MQ for z/OS as part of the technical sales process
- Provide guidance to customers in implementing MQ for z/OS in their environment
- Develop expertise in areas such as MQ Queue Sharing, security, availability, performance
- Advise IBM and partner teams on solutions that include MQ for z/OS and related products
- Continuously learn about new developments in MQ for z/OS and related products
Required education
Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
- Java development experience
- Systems programming, application development and/or systems administration experience with z/OS
- Comfortability with mainframe functionality including ISPF/TSO; JCL; REXX; RACF; CICS
- Security experience using tokens, TLS/SSL encryption, passkeys
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand high sophisticated technical production environments and architectures, and explain them to others
- Experience configuring OpenTelemetry and event-driven messaging, such as Apache Kafka
- Customer case support experience
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Previous experience analyzing SMF data and z/OS dumps
- z/OS automation using Ansible playbooks
- COBOL development experience
- Collaborate with Sellers and Technical Sellers across the Americas and with IBM Z Development teams
- Self-motivated to develop demos, workshops, presentations, and documentation
