Your role and responsibilities

Our SAP Service Line is a dynamic team who engages with clients to bring them deep industry expertise. As a SAP FI consultant you will serve as a client-facing practitioner who sells, leads and implements expert services utilizing the breadth of IBM's offerings and technologies. A successful consultant is regarded by clients as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business problems.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Analysing and resolving SAP FI incidents and service requests (AP, AR, GL, AA, Banking, Tax), incl. German‑speaking user support.
• Troubleshooting posting issues, month‑end errors, interface/IDoc failures, and Master data problems.
• Monitoring related jobs, workflows, and integrations.
• Performing SAP FI configuration adjustments (e.g., tolerance groups, payment terms, account assignments).
• Providing guidance on financial processes and SAP standard functionality.
• Collaborating with L1 support, business SMEs, and cross‑functional SAP teams (MM, SD, CO).
• Contributing to documentation, testing (UAT, regression), and high‑quality ticket handling.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 2+ years SAP FI support or functional consulting experience.
• Solid understanding of FI processes (AP, AR, GL, AA, banking).
• Hands‑on experience with SAP tools (ST22, SM35/36/37, SM13, SE16, IDoc monitoring).
• Knowledge of postings, account determination, and integrations with MM, SD, CO.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to support users in English and German.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• SAP S/4HANA Finance knowledge.
• Experience with bank/3rd‑party financial interfaces.
• Basic ABAP reading/debugging.
• ITIL familiarity.
• Experience in 24×5 or 24×7 support environments.
