As a Software Development Manager for Storage, you will design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using the latest technologies, aligning with IBM's Storage strategy and market performance. You will lead teams to simplify complex goals, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to meet business objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Lead Team Collaboration: Lead or participate in organization planning, providing leadership and support to ensure that business objectives are met, and foster teamwork and inclusion across organizations, cultures, and geographies. • Deliver Business Results: Accept accountability for business results, including meeting client satisfaction, productivity, financial, and other business measurements, and recognize contributions by employees and teams. • Develop Employee Skills: Advise and coach employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities to best meet their career desires and current or future business needs. • Drive Innovation: Support change, encourage employees to innovate, advocate for development, evaluate suggestions, and remove obstacles to implementation. • Manage Performance: Establish clear performance expectations, provide employees feedback to improve performance, and hold people accountable for results.
As a manager you will lead and manage a large, highly skilled Storage Development team. In addition to personnel management, the manager will lead the team to deliver new functional enhancements for IBM FlashSystem Software components as well as provide service support to our customer. The role focuses on ensuring high quality and availability of these components as well as partnering with the Product Management and Project Managers on the delivery of IBM FlashSystem releases. The role includes: collaboration across software/hardware/firmware/storage, the leadership team on organization wide initiatives, working with external/internal sponsor users and customers during critical situations.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise :
· Excellent people management skills and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of experienced professionals
· 12+ years of relevant experience of Storage Development
· Experience in leading/managing a team of Development Engineers
· Strong fundamentals in Storage Technologies like Virtualization, Block Storage, SAN, Plugin development concepts etc
· Able to handle multiple scrum teams and scrum of scrums.
· Excellent Communication, people management and leadership skills
· Experienced with networking protocols, Cloud application development, Public Cloud environments
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
· 10+ years of leading and mentoring teams
· Systems and Storage Virtualization .
