In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Architect specializing in AWS Cloud Migration, you will lead the design and delivery of cloud migration solutions, leveraging your expertise in multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and ICP. You will drive the development of migration strategies, tools, and methodologies, ensuring seamless transitions for clients. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Lead Migration Architecture Design: Design and build migration architecture solutions for multi-cloud environments, with a focus on AWS, and other clouds such as Azure and ICP. • Develop Migration Strategies: Lead the team in designing migration strategies, selecting migration tools, and defining network requirements, application, database, and integration component migration pathways. • Drive Methodology Adoption: Lead the adoption of migration methodologies, conducting workshops and tailoring methods to meet client environment and industry needs. • Provide Technical Expertise: Contribute significantly to migration project managers on technical elements of WBS, estimation, migration risk, dependencies, and Minimum Viable Product (MVP). • Map Client Requirements: Utilize deep knowledge of the AWS platform and service catalog to map client platform and application deployment requirements into AWS platform-specific services and configurations.

• Multi-Cloud Environment Expertise: Deep expertise in designing and building migration architecture solutions for multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and ICP, with a focus on seamless transitions and efficient deployment. • Migration Strategy Development: Experience with developing migration strategies, selecting migration tools, and defining network requirements, application, database, and integration component migration pathways for hybrid cloud platforms. • Migration Methodology Leadership: Experience in leading the adoption of migration methodologies, conducting workshops, and tailoring methods to meet client environment and industry needs. • Technical Expertise in AWS: Deep knowledge of the AWS platform and service catalog, with the ability to map client platform and application deployment requirements into AWS platform-specific services and configurations. • Migration Project Management: Experience contributing to migration project managers on technical elements of WBS, estimation, migration risk, dependencies, and Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Deep Knowledge of Azure: Familiarity with Azure services and features, in addition to AWS expertise, to design and deliver comprehensive multi-cloud migration solutions. • Experience with ICP: Understanding of IBM Cloud Private (ICP) architecture and services to support hybrid cloud platform migrations. • Containerization Expertise: Knowledge of containerization techniques and tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to support rearchitecting and replatforming migration methods.
