As an Accountant: Statutory Accounting & External Reporting, you will have responsibility for external filings and provide business advice to all engaged parties as a trusted business advisor. You will demonstrate ownership, accounting, and disclosure expertise for the statutory books or consolidated IBM/ICLL books. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Execute Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare, consolidate, and review Financial statements (FS) and footnote disclosures, ensuring the accuracy of reported numbers. • Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with regulatory, external reporting requirements, and tax/statutory filing deadlines to avoid any risks that may result from late external filing or failure to comply with local laws. • Perform Reconciliation and Maintenance: Execute detailed Review Bridge (reconciliation) between US GAAP and Statutory balances, and perform maintenance of assigned fiscal ledger accounts (mapping, opening, deletion). • Support IFRS Conversions and Assessments: Provide support for IFRS conversions and assessments, and ensure statutory books are kept and reported in compliance with statutory guidance/legal requirements. • Coordinate External Reporting: Coordinate the executive review of draft documents with the company's auditor, corporate legal, finance, and business subject matter experts.
Beyond BAU accounting responsibilities, this position represents a significant transformation opportunity. There is a recent migrated accounting into the center, and there is substantial room for optimization, automation, and standardization. For this reason, we are seeking a profile with a strong transformation mindset, capable of identifying improvement opportunities and driving process evolution.
• Exposure to Accounting Frameworks: Deep understanding of accounting frameworks (US GAAP, IFRS) and ability to apply them in preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures. • Experience with Financial Statement Preparation: Proven ability to prepare, consolidate, and review financial statements and footnote disclosures, ensuring accuracy of reported numbers. • Familiarity with Regulatory Requirements: Knowledge of regulatory, external reporting requirements, and tax/statutory filing deadlines to ensure compliance and avoid risks. • Proficiency in IT Tools: Advanced IT skills, including ability to use designated tools to obtain financial data from Accounting Information Warehouse and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Adobe (PDF). • Exposure to External Reporting: Experience with coordinating executive review of draft documents with auditors, corporate legal, finance, and business subject matter experts.
