Introduction

We are seeking a highly strategic and technically deep Senior Product Manager to lead product vision, innovation, and commercial strategies withing the Automation Pillar. You must blend domain expertise, product strategy excellence, and strong customer empathy to work across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams. You will ensuring strategic priorities are driven with intention and structured in ways that see success in business outcomes as you find unmet customer needs to address in competitive ways, unique to IBM.

Your role and responsibilities

· Strategy & Vision: Own and articulate the long-term vision for the product. Define and execute a multi-year strategy for platform modernization and market expansion.

· Commercialization: Identify the most appropriate commercial strategy to support both customer and business outcomes, propel growth, and monetize created value in the offering.

· Market Fit & Discovery: Lead deep customer discovery across practitioners and enterprise organizations to identify systemic challenges. Conduct user research and market analysis to identify new product opportunities.

· GTM & Sales Enablement: Help with Sales and Marketing enablement to educate on the product story. Create website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, and FAQs. Assist field teams (SEs, Account Managers) with customer conversations and roadmap demos.

Required technical and professional expertise

· Experience: 7–10+ years of product management experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on building and shipping customer-facing experiences in a B2B or Enterprise setting.

· Product Lifecycle: Proven track record of managing the full product lifecycle, from conception and PRD (Product Requirement Document) authoring to launch and post-market iteration.

  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of software economics. You should be comfortable defending, validating, and executing a pricing model.

· Analytical Skills: Solid ability to define and track success metrics, interpret in-market data, and translate insights into product futures.

· Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex system interactions for both executives and highly technical stakeholders.

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with AI/ML concepts, cloud and hybrid cloud strategies, architectures, and patterns, data lifecycle and/or infrastructure lifecycle management. Familiarity with IBM Technology (E.g. IBM Z Mainframe) and Software offerings.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering is required; an MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
