Your role and responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the computation, recording, and documentation of tax accruals to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and SOX provisions; recommend and implement process improvements; formulate and document technical positions; advocate reporting positions with external auditors; communicate with CFO organization and other Company functions; keep current with changes impacting tax accounting and reporting
  • Lead the accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payment of taxes; ensure supporting documentation is complete; recommend and implement process improvements; apply in-depth knowledge of tax laws/regulations, GAAP, and FERC rules; keep current with changes impacting the reporting of taxes.
  • Ensure tax forecasts are thorough, timely, and appropriately documented; take proactive steps outside the normal budget/forecast cycle to identify potential material changes and revise forecasts as necessary; communicate results.
  • Support Regulatory area by responding to information requests and assisting in creation and defence of tax positions in rate cases.
  • Represent Company before tax authorities; assist in development of positive relationships with tax authority representatives; develop creative solutions to facilitate resolution of issues; ensure proper documentation of information exchanged
  • Develops and effects IT tax strategy. Proactively collaborates with business area personnel to document key business objectives and strategy. Primarily liaison between vendors and IT functional team to align tax application strategy with IT tax technology plan.
  • Participate in the development of strategies that are consistent with business objectives; demonstrate knowledge of tax and accounting rules and research resources; assist in developing processes to implement approved tax strategies.

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of tax or accounting experience. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC, FERC, tax, and related regulatory rules.
  • Proficiency in Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax with demonstrated expertise in handling complex situations
  • In-depth knowledge of SUP tax rates across various states of US.
  • Demonstrated proficiency primarily in Vertex, and other applications like Avalara and Workiva
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (ability to work with large volume of data, advanced excel functions), Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills

· Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance and Administration Delivery.

· Proven experience in handling all aspects of Records to report.

· Ability to interact and lead multiple customers across the globe and handle issues.

· Experience to continuously look for opportunities to improve metrics and the validation of the data.

· Proven analytical and numerical ability.

· Validated presentation and interpersonal skills with flexibility in work hours.

Preferred technical and professional experience

· Strategic thought leadership in designing future state delivery and strategies for attaining them.

· Understands future employee, industry and Finance and Administration (F&A) trends and applies this understanding to develop solutions to create a high-performance culture.

· You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with the latest marketing trends.

· Ambitious individual who can work under their direction towards agreed targets/goals and with a creative approach to work.

· Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management.

· Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
