Your role and responsibilities

As a Network Engineer on the IBM Fusion HCI team, you will be responsible for implementing the support for Fusion HCI to connect internal components and for connecting to customer networks. You will provide designs that contribute to the overall architecture direction of IBM Fusion HCI. Your role will include leading others in the development of the networking support. You will also assist the Support team in resolving field issues. Your responsibilities will also include providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required technical and professional expertise

* 8 - 12 years of industry experience in System Networking, TCP/IP, UDP Protocols, static and dynamic routing protocols.
* Proven knowledge of working in Client-Server architecture.
* Experience providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues occuring in the field
* Monitoring network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability
* Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
* Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
* Good problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills for complex issues with interdependencies across multiple modules
* Experience working with Global teams.
* Experience communicating through presentations and written formats
*CCNA or equivalent networking certification.

Preferred technical and professional experience

* Experience in network virtualization.
* Experience in Linux Python programming, Systems knowledge, Virtualization experience with VMware, KVM..etc
* Experience in Systems/Storage domains, Storage controllers and features like High availability, DR, Replication, Snapshot technologies.
* Experience working with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
* Experience in Systems/Storage domains and features like Storage, Replication, Snapshot, Networking technologies.
* Experience with at least one major cloud provider (IBM, AWS, Google, Azure)
* Experience with Agile Software Development Experience
* Familiarity with storage concept.
* Hands-on experience and knowledge of OCP and Kubernetes, Operators, CRDs
*CCNP, CCIE or equivalent networking certification.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
