In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As a seasoned Project Manager: SAP HANA, you will lead SAP HANA implementation projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring successful implementation of SAP HANA solutions that meet business objectives. You will manage cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop and Execute Project Plans: Develop and execute project plans, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure successful project delivery. This includes managing project schedules, milestones, and deadlines. • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including SAP HANA consultants, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and project delivery. • Manage Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure successful project delivery and quality assurance. • Ensure Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance and testing of SAP HANA solutions to meet business objectives and customer needs. • Communicate Project Progress: Communicate project progress, issues, and changes to stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective project management.

Required technical and professional expertise

Deep Expertise in SAP HANA: Proven experience with SAP HANA, including its application in complex project environments, to deliver high-quality results that meet client expectations. • Complex Project Management: Experience in managing complex projects from initiation to delivery, including developing project plans, navigating project landscapes, and ensuring successful project execution. • Leadership and Team Management: Experience leading cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and effective communication among team members to drive project success. • Risk Mitigation and Issue Resolution: Experience identifying and mitigating risks, addressing issues, and making informed decisions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. • Client Relationship Management: Experience delivering project outcomes that meet client expectations, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth through exceptional project management.

Technical and functional skills

  • SAP module expertise: Deep knowledge of relevant SAP modules (e.g., S/4HANA, SD, FI, PP) and their functionalities.
  • Business process knowledge: Understanding of business processes (e.g., R2R, P2P, OTC) and how they are supported by SAP.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in relevant technologies and tools, such as ABAP programming, and an understanding of integration platforms and databases.
  • Data analysis: Ability to analyze and interpret deployment metrics and review large amounts of data.

Project management skills

  • Project management methodologies: Strong experience with project management principles and tools, including knowledge of methodologies like Agile or Activate.
  • Resource and budget management: Experience with resource allocation and budget management.
  • Deployment planning: Ability to develop and execute deployment strategies, and manage timelines and budgets to ensure projects are on schedule.

Leadership and communication skills

  • Team leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, manage conflicts, and foster collaboration.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, both verbal and written, to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management: Experience in managing relationships and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Change management: The ability to develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth user adoption.

Soft skills and other abilities

  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new SAP innovations, changing requirements, and evolving technologies.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and align deployment goals with business objectives.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• SAP HANA Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAP HANA products, including their features, functionality, and implementation best practices. Experience with SAP HANA product roadmaps and release cycles is beneficial. • Agile Project Methodologies: Familiarity with agile project management methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience in applying these methodologies to SAP HANA implementation projects. • IT Service Management: Knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, and experience in applying these frameworks to ensure high-quality SAP HANA solutions and services.
