The mission of the IBM Storage Solutions Team is to engage with strategic ISV and OEM partners that may advance the IBM Storage strategy to expand the marketability of the portfolio, create short- and long-term alignment of solutions roadmaps, and engage in collaborative GTM. The team will:
• Engage with the entire IBM Storage brand – product managers, engineers, technologists, researchers, marketers, and sellers - and the same with our technology partners worldwide
• Prioritize and lead strategic client engagements with solutions engineering expertise
• Design, build, and operate a world-class strategically-aligned ISV program
Our primary intention is to realize measurable, material, incremental business for the Storage product team accredited to our joint in-market solutions with technology partners.
This group is comprised of technology and business professionals who are intent on bringing to market impactful customer solutions based on the IBM Storage assets of today and the future. It will have influence over our product roadmaps and will evangelize everything we have to offer to our partners, our clients, and the worldwide market broadly.
The ISV Partner Engineer is an entry‑level role on the IBM Storage Solutions team, supporting the growth and execution of our ISV portfolio across the Storage brand with a focus on Fusion AI. This role requires hands‑on support in evaluating, onboarding, and enabling Independent Software Vendors whose products align with our overall Fusion AI compute and storage product strategy. Responsibilities include gathering ISV product and technical information, performing product‑fit assessments, executing hands-on validation and integration activities in lab environments, writing deployment guides and reference design white papers, developing sales and customer facing enablement assets, while working closely with product management, engineering, and marketing on these activities. The role is ideal for early‑career candidates who want to learn the fundamentals of ISV alliances and partnerships, sales enablement, and technical alliance operations while contributing directly to IBM Storage ISV program initiatives.
Candidates must demonstrate:
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to support multiple parallel ISV workstreams
• Curiosity and willingness to learn enterprise technology concepts such as storage platforms, public and hybrid cloud, distributed systems, AI/ML (e.g., NVIDIA), and container technologies
• Ability to assist in technical product‑fit analysis by compiling ISV requirements, comparing capabilities, and summarizing compatibility considerations
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift of Kubernetes
• Proficient technical writing skills in developing assets such as whitepapers and sales material
• Ability to perform hands‑on ISV validation and integration tasks, including environment setup, basic testing coordination, documentation creation, technical marketing asset creation, and promotion at industry and client events
• Ability to maintain program materials such as trackers, reports, meeting notes, technical documentation, and partner readiness assets
• Comfort collaborating across cross‑functional internal teams including product management, engineering, marketing, sales, and GTM (go-to-market)
• High personal accountability, attention to detail, and eagerness to grow within a technical partnership and technology‑focused organization
Candidates with the following will be strong matches:
• Exposure to technical partnerships, program development, technology alliances, or technical program coordination
• Familiarity with enterprise storage, public or hybrid cloud platforms, containerization (e.g., OpenShift), or AI/ML (e.g., NVIDIA) concepts
• Experience performing software testing, interoperability checks, technical lab setup, or solution validation
• Experience using analytics, productivity, or documentation tools (e.g., Excel, data analysis tools, AI‑assisted tools, or work management platforms)
• Academic or project work related to enterprise IT, distributed systems, hybrid or public cloud, enterprise storage, or software integration
• Interest in career growth toward ISV Program or Partner Management, Technical Marketing Engineering, Alliance Management, Product Management, or partner ecosystem roles

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
