Introduction

IBM is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Sourcing Professional – Technology to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across next‑generation technology categories, including cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS), enterprise software, and token‑based AI services. This high‑visibility role influences IBM’s enterprise technology strategy, optimizing how IBM adopts cloud and GenAI platforms while strengthening governance, compliance, and innovation.

Your role and responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing for technology providers with emphasis on cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS) and token‑based AI services.
  • Negotiate complex MSAs, SOWs, licensing agreements, and consumption‑based pricing structures with major global technology vendors.
  • Assess token‑based AI pricing models and develop strategies that optimize usage, consumption, and cost predictability.
  • Develop global category strategies that leverage market intelligence, TBM methodologies, and emerging AI procurement frameworks.
  • Stay ahead of AI governance, software risk controls, and third‑party technology compliance requirements.
  • Present insights, strategies, and negotiation outcomes to senior leadership; serve as a sourcing authority in stakeholder and client workshops.
  • Build and strengthen executive‑level relationships with key vendors, executives, and cross‑functional partners to support solutioning and account growth.
Performance & Delivery Excellence
  • Monitor delivery performance for internal and client‑facing initiatives. Ensure savings targets, SLA adherence, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Use enterprise performance tools (EPM dashboards, Cognos) to track pipeline, savings, and supplier performance.
  • Lead multi‑year procurement transformation plans to elevate technology, cloud, and AI sourcing maturity across the enterprise.
Capability Development & Team Leadership
  • Mentor and coach team members to deepen technical sourcing expertise and category acumen.
  • Drive knowledge‑sharing through case studies, best practices, and sourcing templates.
  • Operate with leadership, accountability, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 10+ years of technology sourcing or procurement experience, focused on cloud and/or AI services.
  • Strong understanding of token‑based AI pricing and consumption models.
  • Proven success negotiating complex technology agreements with major vendors
  • Experience in consulting or procurement outsourcing with a reputable service provider.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, analytical, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • CAIRPP® or equivalent AI procurement certification.
  • Familiarity with TBM methodologies for AI value realization and AI software governance frameworks.
  • Experience with martech tools (CRM, CDP, marketing automation) and related software sourcing.
  • Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data‑privacy regulations affecting technology sourcing.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
