Introduction

IBM Consulting is seeking an experienced Adobe Workfront Architect to lead the strategy, architecture, and enterprise-scale implementation of Workfront solutions for our clients. As a key member of IBM’s Adobe Practice, you will define Workfront platform governance, architect complex workflows, and guide organizations through large digital transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with IBM strategists, designers, developers, and cross-cloud architects to build intelligent work ecosystems that empower global marketing, PMO, creative, digital, and operations teams.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Define the enterprise Workfront architecture including object hierarchy, governance models, workflow structures, and long-term platform strategy aligned with IBM Consulting best practices.
  • Lead platform design for intake frameworks, request queues, templates, workflows, routing rules, resource models, and portfolio/program structures.
  • Serve as the Workfront platform authority on large-scale transformation programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, Adobe Experience Cloud integrations, and IBM technology standards.
  • Partner with Workfront Fusion developers, AEM architects, and Adobe Experience Cloud teams to design integrated, end-to-end workflow and automation solutions.
  • Lead client-facing workshops with executive, business, and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable Workfront architectural decisions.

Additional responsibilities

  • Conduct enterprise discovery, workflow assessments, and capability evaluations to identify modernization opportunities and define future-state operating models.
  • Review and validate technical solutions including Fusion integrations, workflow logic, configurations, and cross-system data flows for quality and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Create architectural blueprints, governance playbooks, workflow patterns, integration models, and documentation reflecting IBM Garage and enterprise methodologies.
  • Mentor Workfront developers, consultants, and client administrators to ensure consistent delivery quality and platform adoption.
  • Support rollout and adoption strategies through training enablement, platform onboarding, and structured change management plans.
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities including solution architecture, estimation, proposal development, and SOW creation for Workfront and Adobe Experience Cloud programs.

This role can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 6+ years of experience in:
    1. hands-on Adobe Workfront experience with a focus on solution architecture, governance, and enterprise platform design.
    2. Workfront structures: projects, tasks, custom forms, portfolios, resource planning, workflows, and intake models.

  • 10+ years of experience in:
    1. developing architecture documentation, platform standards, and governance frameworks.
    2. designing integrations using Workfront Fusion and connecting Workfront to enterprise systems via APIs (strong technical background is required).
    3. proven ability to lead client workshops, influence executive stakeholders, and drive architectural decisions in consulting environments.
    4. solid understanding of transformation programs, workflow design, and process re-engineering across marketing, creative, PMO, or operational domains.
    5. excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Adobe Workfront Architect, Workfront Core Developer, or Fusion Developer certifications.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud (AEM, Journey Optimizer, Marketo, Analytics, Target).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, SAFe, or IBM Garage best practices.
  • Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
