Introduction

The Solutions Engineering team serves as the primary technical resource and internal advocate for all Customers at HashiCorp. Through consultative engagement, we identify customers’ challenges, business requirements, establish technical maturity roadmap and leverage our product expertise to propose solutions that meet their needs. As trusted technical advisors, we work closely with our Customers to help them achieve their target outcomes and realize the full value of the HashiCorp solutions they’ve implemented.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at HashiCorp you will mainly be focused on established market segments e.g. Digital Natives, Enterprise, Financial Services and Insurance (FSI). You will partner closely with one or more Sales partners and support the entire lifecycle of HashiCorp’s Customer journey. This includes pipeline creation, achieving technical wins, onboarding, driving consumption, and ensuring successful renewals. Your expertise and guidance will be crucial in helping unlock the full potential of our solutions and achieve their desired business outcomes. In this role you will be expected to:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor: act as the HashiCorp’s technical advisor to dedicated key accounts, engaging with both hands-on engineering teams (e.g. DevSecOps, Security, Platform Engineering) and the C-level business and economic stakeholders.
  • Engage, architect and influence: build trusted relationships with stakeholders and drive strategic application, technology and infrastructure decisions through compelling high-energy presentations, architectural design sessions, customized demos, hands-on workshops and troubleshooting.
  • Drive value realization: guide Customers through their cloud adoption journey, designing technical solutions aligned with their strategic priorities, multi-year programs, corporate values, to drive HashiCorp adoption and revenue growth.
  • Demonstrate business value: articulate and prove business value of HashiCorp solutions (e.g. Vault, Terraform, Consul) in solving the real needs of the end-users through discovered business aligned metrics and impact conversations.
  • Provide authoritative guidance: give expert-level advice and direction on modern technology practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Identities and Access Management (IAM), cloud architecture, containers orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and security automation as part of DevSecOps and broader Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Drive adoption and expansion: it’s you who drives customers’ Return on Investments within adopted products and it’s you who promotes the adoption of multi-product integrated solutions increasing value of IBM partnership.
  • Partner cross-functionally: collaborate with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management, Engineering and Support to ensure Customers realize the value and HashiCorp gets market feedback from the field.
  • Maintain technology expertise: you will establish and maintain a deep understanding of the HashiCorp portfolio, partner solutions ecosystem, and navigate the competitive landscape with confidence of HashiCorp’s advantages.

At HashiCorp, now part of IBM, we are the control plane for Doing Cloud Right and securing Non-Human Identities of AI workloads. Our SaaS and Self Managed solutions are de-facto standards of zero-touch infrastructure and zero-trust security lifecycle management, used by most innovative and demanding companies on the planet. We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to be our force multiplier in the Singapore market.

This is a strategic role where you will leverage deep technical expertise in DevSecOps and cloud-native technologies to guide organizations through their Cloud and AI adoption journey, ensuring they achieve efficiency, security, and scalability. You will play a critical role in driving impactful digital transformation across Singapore.

Required technical and professional expertise

We are seeking candidates with deep technical expertise and strong communication skills. We highly encourage practitioners (e.g., Senior SREs, DevSecOps Leads, Platform Engineering Leads) with strong communication and presentation skills who are looking to transition into a Customer-facing business role to apply too!

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Technical Pre-Sales/Sales Engineering role, OR equivalent hands-on experience in a senior DevSecOps, Senior SRE, Cloud Architecture roles. Experience deploying or implementing solutions in large-scale, strictly governed, change controlled OR enterprise/FSI specific environments is a must.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): expert proficiency with IaC principles. Hands-on, preferably production experience with Terraform is mandatory.
  • Cloud: deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including core services of a standard landing zone (VPC, IAM, compute, managed K8s).
  • Container orchestration: strong, practical experience with Kubernetes (k8s), including managed services like EKS, GKE, or AKS.
  • DevSecOps and IAM Principles: demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipeline architecture (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and methods of pan-environment Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA), encryption and security for distributed services (e.g. mTLS, PKI, JWT, JIT)
  • Communication and Influence: excellent verbal and written communication skills (English), with proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences (from engineers to executives) and converse with Customer stakeholders both formally and idiomatically.
  • Travel: you will travel to Customer sites domestically within Singapore, with occasional international business travel as and when required

  • HashiCorp Portfolio: hands-on experience with at least 2 solution certifications of the HashiCorp stack (e.g. Vault and Terraform, or Terraform and Consul) at least at Associate level.
  • Regulatory: understanding of security architecture requirements imposed by regulatory and advisory domains like MAS, IMDA, SCS, and what controls must be integrated into delivery (CI/CD), AAA and data flow pipelines.
  • Observability: experience with observability stacks and logs monitoring.
  • Cloud Certifications: relevant certifications (e.g. CKA, AWS Solutions Architect Professional grade accomplishments, or other Google, Microsoft, IBM or RedHat certifications).
  • Open source contributions: an outstanding personal and community-valued GitHub activity is always a big plus for our Solutions Engineers
