In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As an Infrastructure Specialist for Cloud Data Platform Managed Services, you will utilize your hands-on administrative skills to install, configure, and manage Data/BigData components on Cloud platforms. You will deliver data platform managed services in hybrid cloud environments, focusing on performance tuning, cost optimization, and understanding the scope of management for PaaS and SaaS services. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Install and Configure Data Products: Deliver data services by installing and configuring data products, services, and operations using the Data Platform Managed Services methodology. • Performance Tuning and Optimization: Leverage expertise in hybrid cloud environments to optimize performance, reduce costs, and understand the scope of management for PaaS and SaaS services. • Client Interaction and Support: Collaborate heavily with clients, business partners, and cloud providers to conclude projects that meet customer requirements. • Data Operations Support: Provide support for data operations, demonstrating an understanding of Data service management and the ability to perform hands-on manual and automated configuration. • Service Delivery: Deliver operational services, ensuring the successful implementation of data platform managed services.
• Cloud Data Platform Administration: Exposure to installing, configuring, and managing Data/BigData components on Cloud platforms, including technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Snowflake, Informatica, Talend, DataStage, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Scylla, Splunk, and NoSQL DBs. • Hybrid Cloud Environment Expertise: Experience working with hybrid cloud environments, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and understanding the scope of management for PaaS and SaaS services. • Data Product Installation and Configuration: Exposure to delivering data services by installing and configuring data products, services, and operations using the Data Platform Managed Services methodology. • Data Operations and Service Management: Experience working with data operations, including understanding Data service management and performing hands-on manual and automated configuration. • Cloud Provider Collaboration: Exposure to interacting with cloud providers in support of delivering data platform managed services.
• Cloud Security Knowledge: Exposure to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks is beneficial for delivering secure data platform managed services. • Advanced Analytics Tools: Familiarity with advanced analytics tools like Scylla, Splunk, and NoSQL DBs can enhance data operations and service management capabilities. • Multi-Cloud Expertise: Experience working with multiple cloud providers can be advantageous in supporting the delivery of data platform managed services.
