In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP MM S/4HANA Consultant to design, implement, and support Materials Management solutions across procurement, inventory management, and logistics processes. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, cross-functional SAP teams, and technical developers to deliver scalable, best-practice S/4HANA solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional Consulting & Implementation

• Lead and support SAP MM implementations and rollouts in S/4HANA

• Configure and customize SAP MM modules including:

  • Purchasing (PR, PO, RFQ)

  • Inventory Management

  • Goods Receipt / Goods Issue

  • Invoice Verification

  • Vendor Master Data

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications

• Drive fit-to-standard workshops and solution design sessions

• Support integration with other SAP modules:

  • SD, FI, PP, WM/EWM, TM, QM

• Configure pricing procedures, release strategies, account determination, and valuation

S/4HANA-Specific Responsibilities

• Work with S/4HANA data model changes (e.g., MATDOC, Business Partner)

• Support S/4HANA migration activities (ECC → S/4HANA)

• Implement Fiori apps related to MM processes

• Apply best practices for S/4HANA procurement and inventory

• Assist with CVIs, data cleansing, and data migration

Support & Optimization

• Provide L2/L3 production support and issue resolution

• Perform root-cause analysis and continuous process optimization

• Support testing phases: unit testing, integration testing, UAT

• Prepare end-user documentation and deliver training sessions

• Collaborate with ABAP developers for enhancements and reports

Stakeholder & Project Collaboration

• Act as a trusted advisor to business users and project managers

• Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge transfer

• Participate in project planning, estimations, and status reporting

Required education

High School Diploma/GED

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP MM experience

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations

• Deep functional knowledge of:

  • Procurement-to-Pay (P2P)

  • Inventory Management

  • Material Valuation & Account Determination

• Experience working in end-to-end SAP project lifecycles

• Strong understanding of integration with FI and SD

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Technical & Functional Skills

• S/4HANA Fiori apps and embedded analytics

• Business Partner concept in S/4HANA

• Release strategies and workflow concepts

• IDOCs / interfaces (functional understanding)

• Basic debugging and ABAP reading skills (preferred)

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with Ariba, SRM, or Central Procurement

• Knowledge of EWM or WM integration

• SAP MM or S/4HANA certification

• Experience in global rollouts and multi-country deployments

• Exposure to Agile / SAP Activate methodology
