Your role and responsibilities

As the IBM Technology Expert Labs Worldwide Solution Architect Leader for Cross Brands in Krakow, Poland, you will lead a team of Solution Architects focused on designing solutions with IBM’s technologies like IBM AI, Agentic AI, Governance - WatsonX family, Automation – MQ/APIC/ACE, Sustainability - Maximo, Mainframe - zOS/zHw, Infra and Hybrid Cloud products. You will work closely with clients and account teams to define technology solutions including system-level architectures and technology services that meet the client's business goals. In this role, you will lead evaluation of the business needs and defining solutions with IBM technology and services that leverage and fit in with the client's software, hardware, and infrastructure. A successful Solution Architect leader will look for repeatable architecture patterns, automation, and assets to be deployed at scale including validation with our collocated Software Labs Product Teams.

  • Providing end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with clients and sellers to create solution proposals, and guide delivery teams during implementation.
  • Assuming overall technical responsibility for the success of proposed solution design, solution content, and solution implementation.
  • Identifying solution patterns that include software configuration, systems architecture, and related sizing in phases such as design, development, integration, production support and operations.
  • Scaling the global Solution Architect team by creating or guiding the creation of reusable assets and accelerators.
  • Being a trusted advisor at all levels – from engineers to CIOs – navigating challenging debates to reach healthy resolutions.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Proven Leadership of leading the profitable business and senior technical teams.
  • Technology Skills: Skills and knowledge in the following technology areas: IBM Technologies and Products. At least documented experience in two Verticals, supported with industry specific knowledge.
  • Track record of sizing and defining services focused solutions including functional and implementation requirements for phases such as design, development, integration, production support and operations.
  • Client Stakeholder Credibility Building: Experience in building credibility and service orientation with client stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Additional European language on top of excellent English (min. C1)
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Technology Expertise: Deep expertise in at least one of the following technology areas: IBM System z, z/OS, Machine Learning / AI on z, MQ, APIC, ACE, Maximo, Data and Analytics, IBM Power Systems, storage, resiliency solutions, server / storage replication, and automation.
  • Strong OpenShift and Cloud experince deploying IBM Software
  • Client facing Experience: Experience working with clients in defining technology solutions
  • Experience with any of the IBM Software portfolio considered a plus – IBM Data & AI products
