Introduction

IBM Consulting is seeking an experienced Procurement Tower Delivery Lead to support a strategic engagement with a multinational consumer goods company. This is a unique hybrid role combining hands-on procurement tower leadership (50% delivery) with strategic advisory capabilities (50%). The successful candidate will serve as the primary procurement subject matter expert for the account, ensuring operational excellence while driving continuous improvement and business value.

Your role and responsibilities

This position addresses a critical client need for dedicated procurement leadership and represents an opportunity to shape the future of procurement operations for a Fortune 500 organization in the consumer products sector.

Procurement Tower Leadership & Operations (50% - Delivery)

As the Procurement Tower Delivery Lead, you will:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day procurement operations for a multinational consumer goods client, serving as the primary point of contact for all procurement tower activities
  • Ensure SLA compliance and operational excellence across end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including PO processing, vendor management, and invoice resolution
  • Manage procurement team resources, workload distribution, and performance to deliver consistent, high-quality service to client stakeholders
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders on procurement requirements, priorities, and strategic initiatives, building trusted advisor relationships with procurement and finance leadership
  • Drive issue resolution and escalation management for procurement-related matters, ensuring rapid response and effective problem-solving
  • Monitor and report on procurement metrics, KPIs, and service delivery performance, providing regular updates to client leadership and IBM account teams
  • Oversee transactional procurement activities while maintaining focus on process adherence, quality, and continuous improvement

Required technical and professional expertise
Procurement Operations Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement operations experience with demonstrated career growth and increasing responsibility
  • 4+ years in procurement leadership, tower lead, or operations management role within a BPO, shared services, captive, or outsourcing environment
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end procurement operations including indirect procurement, direct procurement, or both
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 or large enterprise organizations, preferably in consumer goods, consumer products, CPG, or related industries
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement and transformation initiatives with measurable business impact.

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes including requisitioning, sourcing, purchasing, receiving, invoice processing, and payment
  • Expertise in procurement operations management including vendor management, PO processing, contract administration, and supplier relationship management
  • Strong understanding of procurement systems and technologies such as SAP (ERP, Ariba), Oracle Procurement, Coupa, or similar enterprise procurement platforms
  • Experience with procurement analytics, spend analysis, and category management, including the ability to extract insights from data and drive action
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, data analysis) and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Knowledge of procurement automation technologies including RPA, workflow tools, and digital procurement solutions

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
