IBM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer to support our Benchmarking team. In this role you will build and deploy cutting edge agent and data software solutions to evaluate features, capabilities, and performance. You will run benchmarks and assessments to inform strategic product positioning. You are both a gifted engineer and product strategist. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with benchmarking tools, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in deploying and configuring IBM and competitor software stacks on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Execute predefined benchmarking test plans using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Collect and organize performance data; assist in basic analysis and visualization using tools like Grafana or custom dashboards.
• Support the development and maintenance of benchmarking scripts and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Document test environments, configurations, and outcomes with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Stay informed about emerging benchmarks and performance testing best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0-1 year of experience in software engineering, performance testing, or related technical roles.
• Basic familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in benchmarking and performance engineering.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in software engineering, performance testing, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) or orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data platforms or distributed systems concepts.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
