Your role and responsibilities

As a Legal Intern with IBM’s Legal Department in Singapore, you’ll gain firsthand exposure to how a global technology leader navigates complex legal and regulatory issues in an era of AI and digital transformation.

During your two-week internship (full-time) in December 2025, you’ll work closely with IBM’s in-house counsel to:

  • Assist with contract drafting, review and negotiation for commercial and technology transactions.
  • Conduct legal research on topics such as AI governance, data privacy, and emerging technology.
  • Support compliance and ethics initiatives, including policy updates and training materials.
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal reports, presentations and guidance notes.
  • Observe and gain first-hand experience on how IBM lawyers leverage AI-powered tools and legal-tech platforms to enhance efficiency and insight.
  • Grow your skills through a combination of education platforms, and receive first hand career guidance from mentors.

This internship offers a rare chance to see how a global technology company’s legal department operates — combining practical learning with exposure to cutting-edge issues that are reshaping the future of law and business.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in the National University of Singapore.
  • Strong interest in technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be amenable for a 2 weeks internship program that starts in Dec 2025
  • Candidates must be enrolled in university during the program

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Awareness of current trends in AI governance, data privacy, and digital ethics.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and willingness to learn.
