Our OpenShift on Z team is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the key components of the stack Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Architecture - OpenShift Container Platform (developer services), OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (Cluster services). We tightly collaborate with the Redhat and international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development), the global maintainers of Open-Source communities.

Your role and responsibilities

Designs and provisions RedHat OpenShift infrastructure considering Cloud native architecture and deployment models.
Creates RedHat Container Platform Cluster. Implements OpenShift PaaS DevOps Toolchain.
Experienced in OpenShift Component services in Compute, Storage, Networking and monitoring of applications.
Deploys and implements Ansible playbooks.
Implements task control, deploying files to manage host and host pattern design, role and policy based playbook creation, optimize compute, storage and network service design.
Holds the certification associated with this skill: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.
Performs Infrastructure as code provisioning and creation of sandbox environment. Applies knowledge of Storage, Compute, Security Services.
Performs administration of hybrid cloud environment, Configuration of HA/DR. Understands SLA management, services health management and key metrics monitoring.
Experience in Kubernetes Docker, CRIO.
Leading a team of 2-3 Infrastructure team members and assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workload distribution and mentoring the team.

Required technical and professional expertise

10-15 years of experience in software engineering with very good understanding of fundamentals of containers and Kubernetes platform.

Experience working in Unix/Linux environment and basic Linux administration skills.
Must have hands on experience in setting up and configuring Kubernetes platform.
Experience working with Red Hat OpenShift is preferable.
Experience in developing deployment scripts for Kubernetes based micro-services.
Practical experience of implementing end to end Continuous Integration/Delivery solutions in Kubernetes environment.
Experience in authoring build scripts with Jenkins or Travis or Tekton.Experience with problem determination, root cause analysis and debugging in Kubernetes/OpenShift environment
Good experience working with tools like Git.Experience creating automation using scripts (Shell/Perl/Python, etc.) and using tools like ansible/Chef/Puppet.
Experience in delivering projects using Agile methods and tools such as Jira.
Experience leading and mentoring a team of Infrastructure engineers.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have an engineering mindset in addressing problems.
Experience working and doing basic administration in Unix/Linux environments.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
