Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Technical Support Representative with a solid background in Java development to join our support team. This hybrid role combines strong troubleshooting and communication skills with in-depth technical expertise to provide top-tier support for our enterprise software solutions.

You will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, interfacing with development teams, and helping clients integrate and optimize our products using your knowledge of Java and related technologies.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for Java-based applications and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, functionality, and integration
  • Work closely with QA teams to escalate and resolve bugs
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical issues, and solutions.
  • Create and maintain internal and customer-facing technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles
  • Participate in customer calls and screen-sharing sessions when deeper technical insight is required
  • Support the continuous improvement of support workflows, tools, and escalation processes

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Technical qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Basic knowledge of Java development.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to debug code and analyze logs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical users.
